Financial District – NYC Apartment Tour 2019

Hi friends, hope you all had a great weekend! Today I’m excited to be sharing an updated apartment tour. A year ago, Jon and I moved from the Hudson Yards neighborhood in Manhattan to the Financial District. The Financial District (FiDi) is in lower Manhattan and our apartment is one block away from Wall Street and about a five minute walk to Ground Zero. We love this neighborhood because it’s a lot quieter and feels more like NYC. In Hudson Yards, the area was still being developed so it was very noisy and dirty. We signed a two-year lease at our current place, but we both agreed we won’t leave this building until we are ready to move out of the city. Also, our building is close to the subway and has a gym, grocery store, coffee shop, bowling alley, and yoga classes so there’s no reason to leave 🙂fullsizeoutput_1f39.jpeg

A year ago, I shared an apartment tour and I thought it would be fun to share an updated look. We haven’t done too much since the last post, but I figured it’s fun to share and the apartment will be decorated for the holidays soon. Come on in to my Financial District Apartment!

We have some space by the front door and we put this great bench to hold our coats and shoes. We found this on Amazon and love it!

My favorite part of the apartment is definitely the kitchen! I love having a window and also that the kitchen is open and bright. We’ve made so many great meals in here and it’s perfect for meal prepping. We have lots of counter space and plenty of storage too for our rice cooker, crockpot, and air-fryer 🙂

The other day I could see the 9/11 tribute lights out the window and I’ve seen lots of firework shows from here too 🙂

My favorite part about the living room is the natural light, that was one of the first things I noticed when we viewed this apartment. Our couch fits perfectly and it’s the best purchase we’ve ever made! We got the Harmony from West Elm and it’s so comfy and spacious!

We bought a Pottery Barn blanket and I highly recommend using one, it’s so soft and warm!

The views from our living room are pretty great! We face north and can see the Brooklyn Bridge and the East River.

We have a little office area that we use when we have to work from home. This lamp is our newest addition and has replaced our Christmas tree 😉

We are lucky enough to have a washer and dryer in our apartment in this little closet on the right. The bedroom is to the left, and the bathroom is straight ahead.

I hope you enjoyed the apartment tour! This apartment is so special because it’s the first place that Jon and I found together and we’ve had so many amazing memories here in the last year. It’s the perfect place for us to call home until we are ready to move to the suburbs one day. Stay tuned for some Halloween decorations coming your way soon 🙂
