Kennebunkport, Maine – Part Two

Hi friends, welcome back to part two of my time in Kennebunkport, Maine! (You can catch up on part one here) It rained most of our one full day in Kennebunkport, but Jon and I made it out to see Walker’s Point Estate, before the rain came in. Walker’s Pointe Estate is the summer home of the Bush Family and was the Summer White House for of George H. W. Bush. You cannot get close to the compound for obvious security reasons, but you can have a great view from the shore!

I can imagine how amazing it would be to spend your summer here on the Atlantic Ocean. It would be a tranquil spot compared to DC. I’d love to have coffee on the porch with this view!

The home has nine bedrooms, a pool, tennis court, guest house, boat house and lots more!

Jon and I strolled along the street checking out all of the beautiful homes on the block. I tried not to look too creepy taking pictures 🙂

For lunch we stopped at Rococo Ice Cream and each ordered a cup of Maine Whoopie Pie and brought it home to enjoy by the fire 🙂 The ice cream is incredibly high quality and they have some unique flavors, so definitely add this to your Kennebunkport must-do list! This ice cream shop was a favorite of George H. W. Bush.

For our last night in Kennebunkport, we ordered take-out from Allison’s Restaurant and it was delicious! We split the Famous Maine Lobster Roll and a Maine Lobster Pizza. The pizza was AMAZING and topped with the creamiest cheese! I had never had lobster pizza before, and it definitely won’t be the last time.

Jon and I had a great time relaxing in Kennebunkport and would love to check it out again in the summer to get the full experience! Next stop, Portsmouth, NH!

  1. Ogunquit and Kennebunkport are two of our favorite vacation spots. You really captured the “look” of the old summer resort. I recommend you go back in better weather… there is so much to see and do. Stay safe!
