Springtime in Lower Manhattan

Hi friends, welcome back! While the spring weather might be off to a bipolar start, the colors around the city are not.  On a teaser spring day, Violet and I strolled around capturing the best blooms around Lower Manhattan. I’ll start this tour at the southern most part, Bowling Green Park. I loved all the red tulips.

Zuccotti Park always looks great for the different seasons.

Unfortunately the waterfront of Brookfield Mall is all boarded up due to a five year resiliency project that protects the waterfront against future hurricanes, but the West Side Highway portion looked pretty this spring.

This is what it looked like in prior years, I was bummed to see it all boarded up.

Rockefeller Park is a popular spot to hang when the weather is nice.

The Children’s Garden in Rockefeller Park looked especially beautiful.

Heading back home…

Last but not least, City Hall had quite a few magnolia trees in bloom.

Hope you enjoyed this spring tour of Lower Manhattan!

  6. The Brookfield Place photo from “prior years” had me thinking of Dorothy and all those poppies blocking her way to the Land of Oz. Suddenly I feel like a nap! 🙂
