Shine Bright at Hudson Yards 2022

Hi friends, welcome back! I’m kicking off the holiday season in Hudson Yards. Wells Fargo has put on their third annual Shine Bright at Hudson Yards display and the twinkling lights sure are magical!

There are over 2 million lights spanning 115 miles of string lights, 725 evergreen trees, and plenty of photo-ops.

I love watching the 32-foot hot air balloon change colors. In my opinion the third level has the best view.

The display began shining on November 14th and is open until January 8th, 2023. It’s open Monday – Saturdays 10:00am-9:00pm and Sundays 11:00am-8:00pm. You can also do some Christmas shopping or grab a delicious bite while you take in the lights at this trendy mall.

I was hoping they would change it up a little this year, but I still enjoyed the display. I shared a video on my Instagram you can check out here.

Outside the pavilion is also decorated and looks so pretty at night. The decorating company really did a great job!

This display in Hudson Yards is dazzling and definitely in my top five NYC Christmas spots to check out. While you’re at Hudson Yards you can also check out The Edge observation deck on the 100th floor for some stunning views of the city. I haven’t been up there yet, but it’s on my list! I hope you enjoyed the first spot I’m checking off on my NYC Christmas Bucket List 🙂

  1. Oh wow, this is lovely. If I ever make it to NYC, I think I shall visit at Christmas. Every day would be like scenes from a Christmas movie. Love that the lights stay up into the New Year- we need that extended bit of cheer when the holidays draw to a close.

    1. NYC is so magical at Christmastime! The only downside is the movies never seem to have the crowds you can hardly walk through, but it’s all part of the fun I suppose. I also love that it stays up through New Year, I usually don’t take my decorations down until after the New Year too to keep the cheer going 🙂

  2. Well captured Lyssy. This place certainly is all shimmery Christmas with all those gold lights. So nice to look at but I would not want their power bill. Thanks for sharing. Have a great week. Allan

    1. Thank you! It’s a good thing this mall isn’t in California with all the power grid concerns.

    1. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many lights in one place! I wonder that too, seems like a good job for me haha

    1. It’s so dazzling with all the lights! I too wonder how long and how many hands it took to complete. Hope you enjoy all the Christmas posts to come 😊

    1. I should find out, maybe someone knows! They should have a contest to see who can guess how many total hours it took. Yes! Come to nyc before I move and I can give you a great tour. I always feel like a broken record when I cover things again 😂

    1. Haha this time of year with all the deals makes me want to spend money too and then I see my bill and have a reality check 😂

  3. So the hot air balloon theme is back this year, I’ll check if it’s the same in Paris again. I find it hard to associate it with Christmas, except that it looks like the balls on the Christmas trees, which were originally apples.

    1. I agree, I don’t associate Christmas with hot air balloons. It seems like maybe a snowman could’ve worked too.

  4. Quite the festive atmosphere. I’m not sure I would get much shopping done after admiring all the tinsel & light displays. I like the hot air balloon…….I think it’s quite appropriate for the setting. It does draw your attention to the height of the building.
