Halloween Home Tour 2026

Hi friends, welcome back and come on in! Our new place is coming together and I enjoyed the challenge of decorating for Halloween. I do miss my deep windowsills that I used to be able to decorate, but I like how it turned out this year. In our entryway I have my usual styled table. Thankfully all my fragile pumpkins survived the move. Violet gets so excited every night when I turn all the candles and lights on and she usually says “night night pumpkins” as she makes her way upstairs for bedtime.

The foyer at nighttime.

I had to take all our usual decorations off the bookshelf to fit all my Halloween decorations nicely. My grandpa painted these fall pictures.

These poor ghost pillows are taking a beating this year.

I’m excited to have a fireplace and mantel! It’s gas so I envision us turning it on a lot this winter.  (Don’t mind all the cords…they’re a work in progress)

I put these kid friendly pumpkins and lantern in Violet’s corner.

I got these coasters for this year, I am a sucker for anything dog and holiday related.

The other new things this year is this tray and Jon’s mom got me this cute pumpkin. I don’t think our counters have been this clear since the day before we moved in. Hopefully we can keep it this way ha.

I love how this pumpkin and sign look in the corner. I realize these bowls have a very random assortment of candy in here. I average about 3 pieces of candy corn a week, it’s more of a decoration. My top three candy is Snickers, Peanut M&Ms, and Reese’s.

One of the casualties of the move was the lid to this vase. I know that I had an extra lid from a prior vase breaking, but I haven’t found it yet…

My morning latte seems to taste better with a festive coffee cup.

Upstairs I have some spooky sheets for Violet and I love decorating her bookshelves with all her Halloween books. Her favorites right now are Franklin’s Halloween and Little Blue Truck’s Halloween.

I put a little pumpkin on her shelves and some gnomes on her painting.

Outside I just have this rug so far, next year I will figure out a cute pumpkin display. I forgot to take a picture so this is just from the stock photo – I’m not that creative yet ha!

Now that we have a basement I have this cabinet that I store some of my holiday décor. We also have a closet under the stairs that I keep my big holiday bins. I think Violet is happy not to have to share her closet with all my holiday décor.

Thanks for stopping by! I made it into the city to see the Upper East Side Halloween decorations so that’ll be up next 🙂

  1. You have adapted wonderfully Lyssy. The place and the decorations look great. As top the cords, they are still a work in progress here too and we have lived here for 35 1/2 years. Night night pumpkins is so cute. Hope you are keeping a record of the cuteness that comes from Violet. Happy Monday. Allan

    1. Thank you! The suburb life suits us at this point in life. That is the second TV we have mounted up there so it’s been a process. I do need to get a video of her saying that. It’s crazy all of a sudden she is randomly speaking in sentences. Such a fun age!

    1. Thank you! It’s nice having more room to decorate and spread out. I got her a little bucket for candy and the good trick or treating streets aren’t far so it should be fun! I got her a cute bumblebee but she refused to put it on. She just wants to wear her fleece pumpkin onesie but I’ll have to send a pic!

    1. Thank you! I am hoping to do something like that when our table arrives. Hopefully before Christmas…

    1. Spooky season is going by way too fast! She has a cute little voice too so it’s very adorable.

  2. Now that you have the storage go shopping on Nov 1st and pick up more decorations for next year at 50% off.

    1. After moving us my mom keeps telling me not to buy anything. I’ll tell her you said it was ok 🙂

  3. Your new home looks wonderfully cozy and festive! I love how you’ve incorporated Halloween decorations throughout the house without overwhelming the rooms. The family touches, especially your grandfather’s paintings, make everything more personal. Looking forward to your Upper East Side tour.

    1. Thank you! Yes it’s a fine line between tasteful and too much so glad to hear I haven’t gone over the line.

    1. Thank you! It is so fun with toddlers at the holidays and seeing all the joy in their eyes from the little things.

  4. Good morning from Memphis, Tennessee! I just found your blog through Joanne’s Tuesday Talk link party…and I’m a fan. I love NYC, and I love how you decorate! All of your things are really cute. Did you move within the last year? I can’t wait to follow along!

    1. Good morning, thank you!! We just left the city in July and are in Greenwich, CT now. City life was tough with a toddler that loved to run.
