Fall Bucket List 2024

Hi friends, welcome back! While Sunday is the first official day of fall, it’s probably no surprise I’ve gotten an early start to my favorite time of year. My apartment is all cozy with my pumpkin decor, our Jack O Lantern Blaze tickets are purchased, we’ve been to the cider mill twice, and are going apple picking this weekend. As usual I’m sharing my fall bucket list, but we will see how much I actually cross off this year.

  • Go apple picking
  • Visit the Great Jack O Lantern Blaze
  • See the NYC Halloween Decorations
  • Bake a pumpkin treat
  • Watch some Halloween movies
  • Take in the fall foliage
  • Drink a fall flavored coffee
  • Make some chili
  • Decorate the apartment
  • Stock up on Trader Joe’s fall goodies
  • Eat some Halloween candy
  • Read a fall themed book
  • Watch all the football
  • Enjoy some apple cider & donuts
  • Light a fall scented candle
  • Navigate a corn maze
  • Make a spooky charcuterie board

That’s all the fall fun I can think of! What are you looking forward to this fall season?

  1. So many beautiful photos, Lyssy – I love enjoying each season as it comes, but there’s something so special about Autumn. I always look forward to the beautiful changing leaves, the opportunity to switch out shorts and flip flops for sweaters and boots, getting cosy with a good book and a warm drink, and all the Fall comfort foods and therefore our house has already been decorated for autumn. I love your fall bucket list as it is a fantastic way to savour every moment of the season. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. Thank you! I agree it’s a special season and I love all the cozy fall things too. I’m just waiting for it to be cooler out so I can get out my sweatshirts and pants. I also love knowing Christmas is right around the corner 🙂

  2. At this point, I think I’m most looking forward to it actually being fall. It’s been so hot. But it’s finally starting to cool down overnight and that crispness of fall is seeping into the air. I’ve already decorated for fall and had a couple fall coffees, but it’s just not the same when it’s so hot outside. Hopefully you’ve had some better fall weather on the east coast so you can get started on your bucket list!

    1. I agree! I feel like I always am breaking a sweat when I’m decorating for fall. In Michigan over Labor Day it was highs in the low 70s so the mornings were so nice and crisp. I loved breaking out my sweatpants and sweatshirt. In NYC it’s slowly starting to cool. It seems after today it won’t get higher than the mid 70s. Last fall rained like 10 weekends straight so hopefully it’s a drier fall.

  3. Fabulous list! We don’t get fall here like you do in the States nor do we really celebrate Halloween. I look forward to the change in seasonal ingredients and produce which informs my cooking.

  4. Great fall activities! Of course, you can’t miss out on a PSL, haha! For me, I’m looking forward to cooler weather; while this week in LA has been cooler, it’s expected to heat up once again next to the mid-80s, which I’m not looking forward to…otherwise, I’m really looking forward to my trip in October, as I very much need a vacation! Have a wonderful fall ahead, Lyssy 🙂

  5. The fall is my favourite time of the year. I’ve been having a cup of pumpkin chai every morning this week. Best of luck with your fall list. The spooky charcuterie board sounds awesome. Love the ghost platter that you have.

    1. It’s my favorite time of year too. A pumpkin chai sounds like the perfect cozy start to the day. I can’t resist Pottery Barn’s holiday items, especially their fun platters.

  6. Looks like an ambitious and fun list Lyssy. Glad to hear you are on the go. We are enjoying our time in OEI by the beach and it has been crazy hot for here at up to +28 (feels like +33C). We are headed home in a week and will do some catchup hopefully still with fall walks and rides. Then we have company coming from Japan, before we head off to Benji sit in Vancouver. Busy times. Happy Wednesday. Allan

    1. I’ve been trying to stay active, but it’s getting harder. That is very hot for up north, especially for you Canadians. I hope you guys are having the best time! Sounds like some great visits ahead this fall. Looking forward to reading about it all.

  7. Wow, you are ready for fall! The decorations are already up, two apple cider tastings, your neighbours (?) have Halloween set up and still a long list of things to so. Enjoy fall! Maggie

    1. I am ready! We were in Michigan and there’s a cider mill two miles for my parents so that made it easy. In NYC it’s an hour and a half drive minimum to get to the cider mills. Those other pictures were from last year, but I think they start having people put up their decorations a week or two into October.

  8. I’ve got my fall bucket list started already and we have a few of the same things on them… I still need to decorate the house and while we’ve been to the orchard once already they did not have my favorite baking apples for my apple pies so we’ll definitely have to go back.

    1. Apples are my favorite fruit. It’s amazing how much better they taste from the orchard than the grocery store. A slice of apple pie sounds real good right now!

  9. It’s a good start for the decorations. For the moment I’d rather live in denial that summer’s over, I’ve still got a few trips planned to the south to make it last a little longer.

    1. I’m the opposite, I can’t so the heat! Although it is sad when it gets darker earlier, that I don’t like about fall.

    1. My mom always went all out for the holidays growing up so I’ve taken it a step further ha! It’s so nice having a football game on all weekend now and becoming one with the couch.

  10. Given how early “pumpkin spice” products made their appearance this year, a six-week season doesn’t seem like an early start after all. I was just reading how Trader Joe’s mini logo bags are hugely popular, selling for ridiculous prices on eBay. But they’ve restocked them in stores now for their regular $2.99 price. You should add one to your Halloween decor ha. As for “looking forward to…”, football! Go IRISH!
