Weekend in Michigan – Puppy Prank

I had the best time home with my family this past weekend. I went home mainly to put the Christmas decorations up, that’s one of my favorite traditions. Nothing makes me happier than a house decorated for Christmas! I flew home on Thursday night with no delays, and my whole family was there to pick me up! On Friday I woke up to the first snow of the season, it really put me in the mood to decorate. I decorated the whole house – more to come on that this week 🙂

After I was done, my mom and I went to the mall to do a little shopping. We also went to Hobby Lobby and At Home to look at some Christmas decorations.  It was so nice to be able to drive to the store and other places, that’s something that’s really hard to do in NYC. Whenever we run errands in NY it takes the whole day because we have to plan what subway and find the best route to be the most efficient.

I also tried on a Canada Goose jacket and fell in love! It was so warm that I was sweating in the store after having it on for five minutes, but It’s perfect for winters in NYC! I get really cold easily, so it’ll help me survive the winter wonderfully.

Friday night we went out to Compari’s in downtown Plymouth to celebrate my new job! It was nice to all be together again. I had a salmon Caesar salad and a glass of white wine.

On Saturday morning Kris and I went to my cousin Deborah’s house to pick up her puppy, Dodger. We got to watch him all day while they were out of town, I was so excited! I had texted her saying I wanted to meet him when I was home and I got lucky enough to have him the whole day 🙂IMG_5295fullsizeoutput_9f9DSC_0996

We kept him a secret from my dad because he doesn’t have any social media and had no clue that she got a puppy. I walked into my house with him and my dad was shocked! He thought it was a joke and was really hoping it was a joke, but we played it off so well that he believed us. He was really worried about all of the responsibility, it was hilarious for us, but not him! He was sooo relieved when we finally told him that Dodger wasn’t our puppy.fullsizeoutput_a2e.jpegIMG_5330.JPG

Dodger is only 9 weeks old, so he’s a true puppy! He was so sweet and soft and really made me want a puppy. Dogs bring so much joy to a home.

We loved him so much, it was hard giving him back. I can’t wait to one day have my own golden retriever puppy just like Dodger and Abby. They really are the best dogs!

I flew back early Sunday afternoon with no delays and it was back to reality. It was really nice to escape the city for a weekend and spend some time with my family. I’ll be home again for Christmas which isn’t far away.
