Guilt Free: Protein and Antioxidant Packed Salad

I love salads because they’re usually pretty lite and there’s such a variety of different kinds. I always add salmon or chicken to my salad to get some protein. I like to make sure my salad is packed with protein and micronutrients so that I get all of the health benefits. Some salads can sound healthy, but have as many calories as a cheeseburger 😱

This recipe is my go-to when I make a salad and I used to eat it almost every day in college. I prefer to buy a variety of lettuce at Trader Joe’s to give my salad more of a crunch, but any kind will work. Chicken is my favorite protein to add to salads, and I think it tastes great with any type of dressing. I also like to add berries to my salad to get antioxidants and make my salad sweeter. The dressing shown is very low in calorie, the dressing is usually the bulk of the salad calories.


  • Mixed lettuce
  • Raspberry Vinaigrette
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Chick peas
  • Chicken


  1. Combine all ingredients
  2. Toss dressing on
  3. Enjoy
