NYC Spring Bucket List 2024

Hi friends, welcome back and happy first day of spring! I always love the fresh start of a new season, even if spring in NYC is pretty sporadic. We usually have a few teaser spring days before more cold, and then two real spring weeks before it gets too hot. After the holidays the city seems so gloomy so I’m looking forward to all the beautiful blooms around the city along with ditching the hat and gloves. Here’s hoping for some great spring weather!  (pictures from prior years)

    1. Me too! They’ve been planted around the city so it won’t be too much longer 🙂

  1. Day trips out, eating outside, spring clean once the tree pollen dies down, sorting out my terrace garden, holidays, visitors………

  2. Looks like a great wish list Lyssy. Seeing all the colourful blooms of spring is a real treat. Likely will not see many here before May, well except dandelions. We will be looking at Vancouver’s blossom time soon. Can’t wait. Happy Spring…+16 C (61F) here yesterday and no snow left, but that is about to change for the rest of the week. Allan

    1. It is a real treat after the gloominess of winter. I’m looking forward to seeing Vancouver’s blooms on your walks soon 🙂 We’ve been in Miami the last few days, not looking forward to returning to the cold. Happy Spring!

  3. I love your spring photos from New York, Lyssy. Looks like there’s no better time to visit New York than in spring when ‘the city that never sleeps’ comes into bloom with an array of exciting events and festivals, plus a shower of cherry blossoms providing the most gorgeous setting for a spring city break. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. Thank you! It really does look magical when all the cherry blossoms are blooming and the streets are lined with flowers. I just wish it lasted longer!

  4. I am aware of the cherry blossom bloom on the East Coast (especially in DC), but even more lovely you can see them in NYC! Very much looking forward to spring; I’ll be celebrating my birthday with a little trip with my partner! Have a wonderful spring season ahead, Lyssy. 🙂

    1. I’d love to see the blooms in DC one day, especially around all the beautiful monuments. NYC has quite a few cherry blossoms, especially throughout Central Park. Sounds like you’ll have a fabulous birthday!!

    1. I’m looking forward to the fresh spring air on my adventures! It is nice to have more daylight.

  5. Great list! The first time ever I visited NYC was in spring, so it always felt special for me at that time of year. I haven’t been in a few years, maybe it’s my sign I should visit this spring 🙂

    1. It is really special when all the trees are blooming 🙂 I think this is your sign!

    1. Thank you! I was bummed I could’ve seen he Concorde out my window but I was too late. I saw you got a great view of it! Now you’ve got another reason to come back 🙂

  6. Those tulips and cherry blossoms certainly are a thing to look forward to every year. Not to be missed. We are also looking forward to some hikes, a short trip to the mountains later in May, and lots of museums, galleries and new cafes/restaurants.

  7. Such a great bucket list! I am definitely in the mood for spring and can’t wait for warmer and sunnier days, flowers blooming and just the overall lightness of spring! I did many spring activities 2 years ago so maybe I should go back to my spring bucket list too!
