Hi friends, welcome back! A few months ago I dined at The Emily with some friends and knew I absolutely had to come back with Jon! This restaurant is famous for their Emmy Double Stacked Burger and delicious pizzas. The Emily was founded by a pizza loving couple that wanted to share their love with others, and I’m so glad they did!
This restaurant is extremely popular, so I’d recommend making a reservation as early as possible. We went for a late lunch on a Saturday at 1:45, and barely any tables remained unoccupied.
Jon and I started off with some delicious Mule Kicks. Cheers to the last weekend of summer!
When I went with my friends, we ordered the Burrata Eggplant Parm for an appetizer (Japanese eggplant, burrata, sauce, Calabrian chili, basil) and it tasted delicious! I think this was my first eggplant experience, and it was successful! Jon and I didn’t order an appetizer because we knew our entrees would be incredibly filling and nothing excited us that much.
First out came the Emmy Double Stacked Burger with a side of curly fries. My only complaint is how messy this burger is! My hands were coated in sauce by the time I finished eating. But, the mess is worth it because this burger tastes delicious! As soon as Jon took his first bite, a big smile spread across his face ha!
This burger contains LaFrieda beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, American cheese, & pickles on a pretzel bun – with curly fries! My friend heard about this burger because it’s Dax Shepard’s favorite and she listens to his podcast Arm Chair Expert.
My favorite menu item is the Colony pizza with pepperoni, pickled chili, and honey. I grew up in Michigan, so I have a special place in my heart for Detroit style pizza, and this is some of the best we’ve ever had! I love this pizza, and as you can see, Jon does too!
There’s also quite a few other flavors to choose from and I’d say their prices are pretty typical for NYC. The serving sizes are plentiful and the food always tastes amazing.
I truly love The Emily, and would highly recommend dining here! I’ve been twice, and I know I’ll be back again 🙂 They also have a related group of restaurants called Emmy Squared that offers almost the same menu as The Emily with locations in New York City, Nashville, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Louisville. I haven’t’ been to an Emmy Squared location, but I would guess it tastes just as delicious.
With our full bellies, we happily walked home enjoying the beautiful day and even better company! I’d say the Emily ranks as one of my favorite restaurants, and I’d definitely take someone visiting here or recommend to anyone looking for a delicious burger or pizza.
Looks delicious Lyssy. Makes me long to return to NYC or another visit. Some day. Sigh…..Have a great day. Allan

With your growing knowledge of really good food, maybe someday you & Jon should open “The Lyssy”?
It has a nice ring to it! My mom always says we should open a pizza and ice cream shop
