Lyssy’s Eats: Red Dot Coffee

It’s no secret that I love coffee, maybe even more than I love Trader Joe’s. I love trying new coffee shops and it’s the perfect way to wake up and enjoy the morning. I never really enjoyed coffee shops until recently, Jon and I always try to find cute places when we travel, but we never thought to go to them in NYC. The one I’m sharing today is in my hometown of Northville, Michigan and I had never been until recently. Jon and I drove by and he suggested that we should try it, and boy am I glad we did! I actually went twice when I was home for Christmas, once with Jon, and then I met up with my friend Maddy.img_0070.jpg

Red Dot Coffee is in the CUTEST little old Victorian home. I knew it would be great based on the curb appeal. We walked in and it was very busy with people studying, meeting up with friends, and just enjoying a cup of coffee.img_0067.jpgimg_0035.jpgimg_0037.jpg

The menu is pretty standard from coffee places I’ve been to recently, and the atmosphere is great! Jon and I were asking the baristas about the menu and they were so knowledgeable and helpful! They had great recommendations and explained the sizes the coffee came in, how they make the different drinks, and even gave us little samples. It was by far the best service I’ve ever experienced in a coffee shop.img_0040.jpgimg_0044-1.jpg

I ordered the Café Miel which was recommended to me as one of the most popular drinks. It’s a latte with espresso, steamed milk, honey, and cinnamon. It was as delicious as it was pretty!

Jon ordered the affogato, which is ice cream covered espresso. I had a bite and it was tasty!

When I went with Maddy, I ordered the cold brew and it came in a cute little mason jar.I would highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area! The atmosphere is so cheery, the baristas are knowledgeable and friendly, and the coffee is amazing! I’m still trying to figure out how I’ve never been there before!
