Hi friends! It’s currently Restaurant Week in NYC and Jon and I took full advantage! Restaurant Week happens twice a year in NYC and a select number of restaurants participate and offer special menus for a lower price. It runs Monday through Friday for lunch and dinner. The lunch is a three-course menu for $26 including an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The dinner menu is the same offer, but for $42 a person.
We decided to go to Beauty and Essex in the lower east side and it’s my new favorite restaurant! It’s pretty famous in NYC, it’s a pawn shop in the front, and then you go through a door that opens up to a giant restaurant.
It was very packed with tons of young people and had such a fun atmosphere! We came from work, so we were early for our reservation. We went upstairs to one of the bar areas and ordered some drinks. Jon got The Woodsman and Black Tie White Noise cocktails and I got some simple chardonnay. There was a DJ on our level and he was playing some good music, so the wait for our table was fun.
This is the Restaurant Week menu:
For appetizers, we ordered the Tuna Poke Wonton Tacos and Crispy Eggplant Pizzetta and they were both delicious! We liked the Pizzetta the best.
For our entrees, I order the Grilled Salmon and Jon got the Peruvian Chicken. They were both delicious and great portion sizes.
We were both so full after our entrees and appetizers, but we saved room for dessert. We ordered the Petite Cupcakes, which were TINY, but tasty. The “Les, NYC” Doughnuts were also delicious. They were so light and airy, and I dipped mine in the caramel sauce.
I would highly recommend this restaurant!! The food was excellent, the service was great, and everyone there was having such a great time!
