Lyssy’s Eats: Granite City

Granite City is one of my go-to restaurants in Michigan. I go pretty frequently for work and there’s one by my house. The past month and a half I went three times, and for the first time ever, got something different each time. If you know me, then you know there’s a 99% chance I will order salmon. I like what I like when it comes to food.

With that being said, my favorite meal at Granite City is the Ponzu Glazed Salmon. The last time I had it, it was so spicy I could barely even! It has a really good sauce on it, and comes with vegetables shaped like noodles that I love. It also comes with a side of sticky rice, but I try to save some carbs and only have a few bites.

My go-to used to be this salmon salad, but I definitely recommend the salmon dish over the salad. The salad is lite and has really good candied pecans and a vinaigrette dressing. I always ask for no cheese, otherwise it comes with blue cheese.

I also like the Mahi Mahi tacos (the fish so nice they named it twice) but I prefer salmon to mahi. These do have a very good chipotle ranch sauce on them, but the flour tortillas aren’t my favorite.

The Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie with vanilla ice cream is delicious. This is their specialty for birthdays. It comes freshly baked so it’s nice and warm, the perfect combo for some ice cream. Definitely recommend this 🙂

  2. Laughing so hard…..I am reading your very serious review so intently. Few carbs, no cheese, just a bit of sticky rice AND then you show that AMAZING DESSERT. But I guess anyone who works out as hard. as you do and eats so healthy, gets to eat the brownie and ice cream.

By the way do you know why dessert is spelled with the extra s ?

It is so good it needs 2 s’s to spell it.
