Halloween Apartment Tour 2024

Hi friends, welcome back and come on in for a not so spooky Halloween apartment tour 🙂 I’ve got a few new things, but until we get a house with a basement, I’m trying to resist the temptation to add to my collection. I usually decorate right after Labor Day so I can enjoy the coziness longer, and I keep it relatively the same every year thanks to all my prior tours on the blog. I don’t have much else to say so grab your fall flavored coffee and enjoy the tour!

Our entry table is always my favorite spot to decorate.

One last hurrah for these shelves, next time you see this room it’ll look completely different. We’ve been delaying taking them apart because we love it so much.

I couldn’t resist these pillows, I’m sure they’ll get a lot of use next year.

I love how cozy it feels at night these days.

We’re currently on a Butterfinger kick, but I can’t put out chocolate candy because the sun melts everything. I don’t really like candy corn, so I scrape it out of my jar and give it to my dad. Last year I had to explain why I had four pounds of candy corn to airport security and we had a good laugh.

I think that’s everything. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the tour!

    1. That’s so fun! I think next year I’ll make a little boo basket for our little one 🙂

  1. It looks incredible, Lyssy. I love how you embrace the Halloween spirit by adding beautiful and “spooky” decor that blends in with your already-lovely home aesthetic, rather than masks it. It goes to show you that you don’t have to always add tombstones to your walls or place creepy dolls or skeletons around your living space to add just a touch of eerie throughout your home. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. Thank you! I think maybe my aesthetic is more fall than Halloween, I am not into anything spooky! I like to feel nice and cozy in my home, especially this time of year. I think as far as I’ll go one day is putting fake spiderwebs that cover my bushes outside or something.

  2. I love what you’ve done to the place. So well put together. Spooky, not terrifying, which seems to be the increasing theme here these days, with zombies and skeletons coming out of the ground and cut off body parts on the fence. I like your version much better Lyssy. Happy Wednesday. Allan

    1. Thank you! I definitely prefer to keep it cozy in here instead of scary. Turning on the news these days is scary enough!

  3. Had to laugh at the amount of candy corn you display considering you don’t care for it. Dads to the rescue! The “BOO” figures on the window sill are my favorite. And you have enough light-up items to make the display enjoyable no matter what time of day (bonus points). I can only imagine how your collection will grow to the size of your house someday. That thought is a little “frightening” 🙂

    1. I think I eat about one piece of candy corn a day, but there’s a reason there are no peanut m&ms anywhere, those are my weakness. The BOO letters are some of my favorites too. Having a whole house and kids rooms to decorate will definitely grow the collection. Maybe I should buy pottery barn stock now ha!

      1. Speaking of the candy, I meant to ask what you have in the smallest bowl. Either Halloween-themed M&Ms or Jordan Almonds? And do I read “gluten free” on the wrapped candy in the opposite bowl?

      2. Those are Halloween regular m&ms that got pulverized by the sun. The gluten free thing is ginger chews I had for a little first trimester nausea but we are not gf. Would be sad if we couldn’t eat all the pizza here!

  4. Oh my gosh, I LOVE the pillows! Those are so cute! The living room in general just looks so cozy. And I also got a laugh out of your candy corn story. (I don’t like it either, ha!)

    1. Thank you! I am a sucker for all the Pottery Barn holiday ads they keep targeting me with. Especially if it’s a holiday dog pillow. My dad asked if the candy corn was off-brand because it tasted a little different from being melted ha!

  5. Very spooky and very cute (especially the pillows)! I’m not a huge Halloween fan, but I like getting into the spirit with pumpkin-flavored treats and watching cozy fall/Halloween films (although nothing scary)! A great way to usher in the colder months, especially for you in NYC! 🙂

    1. I don’t like anything scary either, or gory! We need to get a move on our movies, Halloween is only two weeks away. It’s finally been cold enough to wear a coat lately and I’ve been loving it!

  6. Love it! I hope you have a stash of Butterfingers in your place somewhere though! I love them, our equivalent in Canada is Crispy Crunch. I may have asked last year, but do you get trick or treaters? Maggie

    1. Thank you! I keep the Butterfingers safe from the sun in the cabinet, although I think my stash is almost gone. I have snickers and peanut m&ms as backup. We are usually at our friends on Halloween but our building has some kids and you can write your apartment down on a list so the kids know you’ll be passing out candy. On the Upper East side they close some streets and the kids trick or treat at the town homes.

  7. Great work! I understand that you’re looking forward to the moment with all those decorations waiting in boxes. It’s a pleasure to see them up and completed each year.

    1. Thank you! My apartment always feels so empty when I don’t have a holiday to decorate for. Glad you enjoy the tour 🙂

    1. Thank you! I agree, Halloween will be extra fun with your little pumpkin. All the Halloween onesies are too cute too!

    1. Thank you! You are not missing out on not hearing of candy corn, it must just be a US thing. It doesn’t taste or look like corn.

  8. I love all the lovely details of your Halloween themed apartment. Very cozy and inviting. Nice job.
