Celebrating Jon’s Birthday in Nantucket

Hi friends, welcome back to my Nantucket series! Our second day on the island was extra special because we were celebrating Jon’s birthday. We started the day grabbing some lattes from Handlebar Cafe to enjoy on picturesque Main Street.

We freshened up for the day and headed to our new favorite lunch spot, Born & Bread, for some breakfast and sandwiches for the beach.

Jon and I packed up our beach bag, borrowed some beach chairs from the inn, and headed to Jetties Beach. From our inn it was about a fifteen-minute walk which wasn’t too bad. You can also take a bus from town to the beach that runs roughly every half hour. We found an empty spot, set up our chairs, and enjoyed the view of Nantucket Sound.

The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky. We were escaping a heatwave back home and it felt incredible to have the ocean breeze and cooler temps.

Doesn’t get much better than a delicious sandwich at the beach.

Eventually it came time to walk back home to clean up for dinner. We went to Bar Yoshi on the pier and had a tasty meal alongside a great view.

Jon and I strolled around after dinner before making our way back to the Juice Bar.

We headed back to our room so Jon could facetime our families. A nice end to a relaxing birthday! Here’s to many more years 🙂

  7. Is “Hunky Dory” a private residence or a B&B? Talk about charming. You’ve got me wanting to add another Hilderbrand novel to my list if only to enjoy her descriptions of the Nantucket scene. Also, thanks for the rec on “The Gilded Age”. We’re really enjoying the drama and hoping for more seasons. We’re midway through Season 2 and they just stole The Breakers for one of their scenes in Newport.
