What’s Up: March 2024

Hi friends, welcome back! March was a good month for Jon and I. We saw some Broadway shows, visited a museum, botanical garden, watched a lot of March Madness, and had a somewhat spontaneous trip to Miami. Jon had to go down for work so we flew down a day early to hang at Miami Beach and get some much needed warmth and sunshine. While Jon was at the conference, I kept myself busy visiting a waterfront Gilded Age mansion, explored the city, and caught up on some reading. We came back to a cold front and really missed walking to get iced coffee in a t-shirt and shorts. I’ll be sharing more about our trip soon 🙂

In the meantime 🙂 I’ve been linking up with the first blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:

What I’m eating: we made Kale Junkie’s One-Pan Marry Me Chicken Orzo this weekend and it was delicious! I think next time we will double the recipe so we can have more leftovers.

What I’m reminiscing about: Jon and I went to Miami back in February 2020 and little did we know what was coming! Feels like a lifetime ago. It was a bit chilly for Florida last time, so we enjoyed our trip this year a lot more.

What I’m loving: I’ve been opening our windows on nice days and the fresh air just feels so good! Somehow half the time I open the windows a big fly gets in here, but I am pretty good at getting them out alive. I still can’t figure out how they can get all the way up here!

Favorite post of the month: I loved touring the Morgan Library & Museum and having the library to ourselves for a few minutes.

What I’m Up to: enjoying all the March Madness! My bracket is currently in a tie for second place but my mom’s bracket is currently in the top 12,000 out of 22 million!

What I’m working on: last month I said I was working on thinking of blog ideas, now I’ve got about ten posts to keep me busy 🙂 Next up is the New York Botanical Garden Orchid Show.

What I’m excited about: my favorite dress brand, Hill House, had an open casting call in NYC so my friend and I decided to go and see if this was our big break. We coordinated outfits and I’ll admit it was a little embarrassing twinning on the subway and having people stare at us, but we had fun! We got to meet the founder, Nellie Diamond which we were fangirling over and they gave us a $50 gift card, so even if we don’t get picked it was definitely worth going!

What I’m watching/reading: The Middle, Flipping Out, Abbott Elementary, Lessons in Chemistry, March Madness, and golf.

Books I read this month:

What I’m doing this weekend: we have a quick trip to San Francisco for Jon’s friend’s wedding.

What I’m looking forward to next month: all the spring things and watching The Masters! Hopefully we can go hiking one weekend too.

What are you looking forward to in April?
