Hi friends, welcome back! Hard to believe we’re halfway through the year already… The month started off feeling like I was living in some creepy sci-fi movie with all of the wildfire smoke. Luckily that went away in time for the Ed Sheeran concert that we loved. The following weekend we flew to Michigan to see our families and attend Jon’s sister’s bridal shower. We finished the month celebrating Jon’s birthday and are looking forward to a relaxing, nature filled holiday weekend in the Catskills.
On to my post 🙂 I’ve been linking up with the first blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:
What I’m eating: I’ll be sharing my foodie Friday post this Friday. We had a little dinner party with our friends and we brought an antipasto salad and they made beef short ribs in a red wine sauce and margaritas. It was a delicious and fun night!
What I’m reminiscing about: I always reminisce about spending the Fourth of July at my cottage. We always had the best time tubing, boating, playing volleyball, and watching the fireworks.
What I’m loving: reliving our Italy memories while I make my way through my thousands of pictures.
Favorite post of the month: the Ed Sheeran concert, it was such an amazing show!
What I’m Up to: we’re going to Switzerland in August and I’m very behind on our planning.
What I’m working on: my Italy series! It’s slowly but surely coming along, mostly because I have a. hard time narrowing down pictures… but I’m excited to share our trip! I’m starting the series next week 🙂
What I’m excited about: is it too early to be excited for the fall? Now that I see college football commercials I want the cooler weather, pumpkins, and coziness.
What I’m watching/reading: we finished Queen Charlotte, Working Moms, Ted Lasso, and are watching the last season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Books I read this month: I enjoy reading lighter, beach reads in the summer
- Things We Hide from the Light by Lucy Score
- Pineapple Street by Jenny Jackson
- Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey
- All the Days of Summer by Nancy Thayer – this was a good beach read
What I’m doing this weekend: Jon and I are heading to the Catskills for the Fourth of July weekend. We rented a house and we’re looking forward to hiking, relaxing, grilling, and roasting some marshmallows. We also booked a pedal powered rail bike that goes on a scenic railroad through the Catskills. Hopefully it’s as fun as it looks!
What I’m looking forward to next month: next month is BUSY! Jon and I are both only in NYC for one weekend. We’ve got our Catskills trip, a trip to Atlanta for Jon’s mom’s birthday, and Jon has a bachelor party in Charleston and I have a bachelorette in Rosemary Beach, Florida.
What are you looking forward to in July?
