Hi friends, welcome back and Happy New Year! I’m excited to be back on the blog after taking a little Christmas break. Jon and I spent time in Atlanta and Michigan seeing both of our families and miraculously had zero flight issues along the way. As nice as it feels to get away and unwind, it feels great to be home and get back into a routine for the new year. I love the fresh start of the new year and making new goals. I’m excited to start crossing off items on my list and for all the adventures 2023 has in store.
Goals for 2023:
- Read 36 books
- Eat gelato in Italy
- Paraglide in the Swiss Alps
- See a new Broadway show
- Finish decorating the apartment
- Visit a new state
- Visit the MoMa and Guggenheim Museum
- Get a reservation at Don Angie
- Attend more yoga classes at the Peloton Studios
- Give myself five extra minutes to get places
- Get on a Golden Retriever breeder’s waitlist
- Go hiking more
- Ride the Staten Island Ferry
- Upgrade my digital camera
What are your goals or something you’re looking forward to in 2023?
Happy New Year Lyssy. Glad you guys got away. You will need the rest to start tackling your 2023 goals. Gelato in Italy (and Southern France) is fabulous. Happy Tuesday. Allan
Happy New Year! It was nice to get some R&R for the holidays. 2023 should be another busy year. Would love to visit Southern France one day!
Good luck for the year ahead!
Thank you, Happy New Year!
You are very welcome!! Happy New Year!! 🎆😁
Welcome back Lyssy. That’s quite a list, here’s to a happy and productive 2023!
Thank you! Figured I’d give everyone a break after all the Christmas posts 🙂 Happy New Year!
Great set of goals for 2023 Lyssy and I love the photo of the two of you.
Thank you! I had my teeth brush and night serums on well before midnight this year 🙂
😎
Best wishes for 2023 Lissy…..
Thank you! Same to you 🙂
All excellent goals! Happy New Year!
Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year, Lissy! Your goal list is amazing, and it’s perfect to have a fantastic year, filled with adventures and beautiful moments!
Happy New Year!! So excited for all the travels this year 🙂
I can help you with the new state and the golden retriever in one shot! Our goal is to get our coffee distributorship off the ground this year and show kindness and love to all we meet.
Do you have a good breeder? We are going to wait until we are out of the city, but I know the waitlists can be 2 years sometimes. Those are great goals!!
Yes. A couple. Julesonwheelz@gmail.com is my email
Happy New Year. Some great goals there Lyssy. Are you thinking of getting a puppy whilst still in NYC.?
Happy New Year! I am thinking we will get the puppy after we move out of the city. Where we live has no grass or park super close. The waitlists are usually somewhat long, so maybe by then we will have a house/yard.
It sounds a good plan and something to look forward to Lyssy!
Sounds like you have a very fun year to look forward to! We’re hoping to hit up a few more national parks this year– travel is always on my list.
Sounds amazing, I love national parks. Travel is always at the top of my mind and list too.
We spent Christmas in Aruba and celebrated N.Y. E. in the upper peninsula. We are planning a 6 week road trip beginning Feb. 1st. No goals beyond March except swim laps 3 times a week and yoga once a week.
Looks like you had. a great time minus the flight fiasco! Sounds like a great start to the year. Jon’s goal is yoga once a week too.
Nice goals, Lyssy! Happy New Year to you and Jon!
Happy New Year to you guys too!
2023 will be a wonderful year for you. Those goals are amazing.
Thank you! I’m excited for this year 🙂
Re: gelato in Italy. In 2018 we did a cruise around Italy and the best gelato I found was in Venice. If you’re standing by the great canal looking towards the square it was on the left with yellow tablecloths. But it’s fun to test them all!
I’m going to remember that for whenever I make it to Venice. We are planning Florence, Rome and Positano this trip.
Happy New Year Lyssy! Awesome list, I especially approve of eating gelato in Italy and getting a dog!
Happy New Year! Dogs and gelato, my two favorite things!
Happy New Year Lyssy! I like your goal list, and Golden Retrievers are so cute, and they always seem really sweet too!
Happy New Year! Goldens are the sweetest, I grew up with one!
Happy New Year Lyssy and good luck for the year ahead
Happy New Year!! Thank you 🙂
Happy New Year! Best of luck with accomplishing your goals for 2023.
Thank you! Happy New Year to you too!
Happy New Year, Lyssy! I can’t decide of reading 36 books or paragliding in the Swiss Alps is more impressive. I’ll be lucky to read 12 books in 2023 (would help if I gave more time to reading than just before bed ha). I have no doubt you will achieve both. Also, allow me to put in a plug for South Carolina as the new state you visit. You, Jon, your camera, and your appetite for gourmet food would have a blast in Charleston. Teaser: the city is best seen by horse-drawn carriage!
Happy New Year! I actually read 40 in 2022, but decided to decrease it because it started to feel like a chore and that’s not what reading is all about. We actually spent one day in Charleston in 2018, but we definitely need to go back one day! We are in Savannah visiting Jon’s sister and made the day trip.
Amazing goals and happy 2023 🙂 Let me know on your Switzerland dates and I’ll do everything I can to match up and say hello
Happy 2023! Yes I will definitely let you know, that would be amazing!! 🙂
It sounds like you had a lovely Christmas. Good luck with your goals.
Thank you! Happy New year!
I always enjoy starting the year with some goals in mind. I usually try to read 40 books a year. I wish I had time to read more, but 40 is pretty doable for me.
NYC offers lots of fun things to do – the Staten Island Ferry is one I’ve done many times!
I’m happy you linked up with us this week! I love your goals– sounds like you have some fun travels planned for 2023!
Welcome back
