What’s Up: March 2022

Hi friends, welcome back! March was full of good food, fresh air, and lots of March Madness. The highlight of March was seeing The Music Man on Broadway and going to the Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden. We’ve had some nicer weather this month and it’s been great to get outside and see everyone else coming out of hibernation. The city feels very optimistic for the spring and summer, I know I am!

On to my post 🙂 I’ve been linking up with my first and favorite blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:

What I’m eating: I had so many collaborations this month with restaurants so my Foodie Friday will be jam packed! The most epic thing I ate this month was this 24-Layer cake from Carnegie Diner Deli. I will say I prefer the confetti cake, because I like vanilla better, but this cake was still delicious! If you’re wondering, we had to take most of this home 🙂

What I’m reminiscing about: five years ago in March 2017, I was taking a final exam for one of my Master’s in Taxation classes, and when I turned my phone back on after the exam, I had a text from an unknown number. I unlocked my phone and it was my first text from Jon (he got my number from his mom), and I was very excited! It’s crazy to think that was already five years ago, but we always like to reminisce on the beginning of our relationship.

What I’m loving: MARCH MADNESS – it’s so fun to have basketball back to normal this year! There have been so many upsets and close games, and my bracket is beyond busted, but it’s still such a fun time of year!

Favorite post of the month: Music Man on Broadway – I absolutely loved this show and had the best night being back on Broadway.

What I’m Up to: when I was creating my Spring Bucket List, I stumbled upon so many new ideas to blog about and experience, so I’m taking advantage of all the fun and interesting things to do in the city while we still live here. Apparently this shovel is art, but it was so much easier taking a picture of it than the Christmas tree! Spring is blooming all over the city as you can see.

What I’m working on: this is kind of silly, but I’m working on figuring out how to blow dry my hair like they do at the salon. I do not like doing my hair, so I am trying to get better at it in hopes that it’ll get easier eventually ha. I haven’t had to cut my hair out of a round brush yet, so it’s going ok so far

What I’m excited about: travelling again! I’m going to Utah in early May and then Jon and I are off to Paris and London later that month so I’m impatiently counting down the days. Our last trip abroad was to Scotland in 2019, it feels like forever ago!

What I’m watching/reading:

Our favorites this month were Only Murders in the Building, Encanto, The Adam Project, March Madness, and golf. We also watched The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Tindler Swindler, finished Seinfeld, and thought How I Met Your Father was pretty bad. We’re currently watching season two of Bridgerton and The Parisian Agency (it’s like a Paris Million Dollar Listing) on Netflix.

I had a better month of reading and finished four books:

What I’m doing this weekend: hopefully going hiking Saturday and then ordering in while we watch the Final Four.

What I’m looking forward to next month: all of the spring blooms around the city and watching The Masters! I associate The Masters with spring and I hope I can see the famous azaleas in person one day.

What are you looking forward to in April?
