If you missed part one of my first visit home (still sounds weird!) you can read it here.
Saturday was my favorite day of the trip because our lake has an annual fireworks show and we have my aunt and uncles over. My sister also flew in from Portland, so the whole family was together in Michigan for the first time since December. Unfortunately we didn’t get a full family picture. 🤦🏻♀️
There was a lot of volley ball that was played. We set up a court in between ours and the neighbors cottage. It was very hot!! After the game ended we all jumped in the lake and swam for a bit. It was so refreshing!
We played some cornholes, and I actually won a game with Jon. I have some bad aim, but I played better than I thought I would.
The neighbors have a golden doodle that we babysat last summer when she was a few months old, and she tried to eat Jon’s lululemon joggers. This summer they seemed to get along better 😂.
My dad grilled out some burgers and hot dogs, and we had some pasta salad, cheesy potatoes, fruit salad, and jello for dinner.
We were all VERY stuffed after dinner!
During dinner the neighbors were filling up water balloons for the annual water balloon fight. This was my first year being a part of it, and it was so much fun!
Here’s a nice picture before we all had no mercy on each other. There’s a great video of the fight on my instagram you can see here. The kids all poked a hole in their balloons so they could spray people with water. This was highly effective!
Afterwards we dried off and had dessert which is my Aunt Shirley’s famous apple pie and chocolate cake. We were still stuffed, but there’s always room for dessert! It was way too hot for a campfire so I didn’t get the chance to make a s’more.
We went on a moonlight cruise in the pontoon and then made it back home in time for the fire work show. My mom took most of these pics on her phone (thanks mb!)
We were all so exhausted from the heat and passed out after the show.
On Sunday we all hung out under the tree to stay cool. Kristen and Matt went tubing so I went in the boat and watched.
I had such a great weekend with my family back at the lake. I spent all of my summers there as a kid so it was good to be back and hard to leave!
