What’s Up: February 2024

Hi friends, welcome back! Compared to January, February seemed to fly by. We had some brunches, participated in a delicious food tour, enjoyed the Super Bowl, and got a little bit of snow. Jon and I also spent a day exploring some potential neighborhoods in Connecticut. We just re-signed our lease through May 2025 so no plans to leave yet, but the end goal is a yard for my future Golden Retriever. While out there we had lunch at Grigg Street Pizza in Greenwich and thankfully the pizza was delicious!

On to my post 🙂 I’ve been linking up with the first blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:

What I’m eating: I tend to eat the same thing every day and my current favorite dinner is this lemon, olive oil, romaine, and parmesan salad I found on Instagram from Erin O’Brien. I’ve modified it a bit to include chicken, chickpeas, spinach, and toasted bread crumbs. It’s very light and refreshing!

Jon made a Detroit style pizza for our Superbowl.

What I’m reminiscing about: Jon was searing some meat and it smoked up the apartment, so we opened the windows and a nice breeze came in. It reminded him of sitting on our balcony in Positano, which led us to reminisce about how much we loved it there.

What I’m loving: Valentine’s Day! I don’t have many decorations, but I enjoy the little pops of color. I also made some sugar cookies, but I accidentally doubled the butter, so I doubled everything else and ended up with 50 cookies. We deferred our celebration to yesterday and saw Hadestown on Broadway. It was a great show!

Favorite post of the month: The North Face Trail in Murren – it was just so incredible!

What I’m Up to: I recently completed my 1000th Peloton ride and got a shout out from the instructor!

What I’m working on: figuring out what to blog about next. We like to hibernate the first quarter of the year but that doesn’t make for very exciting blog content…

What I’m excited about: we got a membership to the New York Botanical Garden and I’m excited to check out their annual orchid show. We last went in 2022 and had such a great time.

What I’m watching/reading: Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis which led us to watching Flipping Out. We are still loving The Middle, Abbott Elementary, and now professional golf is back in full swing.

Books I read this month:

What I’m doing this weekend: seeing the off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors. It’s currently starring Darren Criss and Evan Rachel Woods so I’m excited. My friend bought tickets for the wrong weekend and asked if we wanted to buy them, so we figured we should be a little spontaneous and said yes. Last year we didn’t see any shows and now we’re making up for lost time.

What I’m looking forward to next month: March Madness, seeing Enemy of the People on Broadway, and spring weather hopefully arriving!

What are you looking forward to in March?
