Hi friends, welcome back! Spring seems to be here in NYC and I am loving it! Two years ago (April 2020) Jon and I walked through Battery Park and discovered so many tulips and beautiful spring blooms, and that post brought me so much joy and hope during the initial lockdowns. I was very excited to recreate the post again this year and I was delighted to find even more blooms.
I started at Zucotti Park to capture all of the colorful tulips. This area is usually filled with people and skate boarders, but luckily I found a quiet time to stop by. We can see this park from our kitchen window and walk through it every weekend on our way to Whole Foods. I especially love walking through with all the colorful flowers.
I went to Brookfield Place next and I was immediately in tulip heaven!! This park is technically called Pumphouse Park, but all I could think about was the song Tip-Toe Through The Tulips. I had this area mostly to myself and it was a dream! I wish I had come with my coffee to sit and enjoy the peaceful tulip sanctuary.

I continued making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and I’m seeing more flowers ( I hope the Vanessa Carlton song is playing in your head 🙂 ) I couldn’t get enough of the bright colors along the water. Jon and I walk along this path frequently and it’s always so peaceful being along the water.

I eventually made my way to Battery Park and I was surprised how crowded it was for a Monday morning. So many people were making their way onto a Statue of Liberty cruise, maybe they were inspired to visit after reading my Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island posts 😉 ! I’d highly recommend visiting both, yes it’s very touristy, but it’s also very cool and interesting. If anything, the views of the NYC skyline from the water are worth it alone.
In the summertime, this area is filled with picnics and people hanging out with friends. Now they have chairs you can borrow to spread out among the lawn.
I saw these beautiful tulips and the true picture of man’s best friend put a big smile on my face.

Last but not least, the Bowling Green Park covered in pretty red tulips. I also learned that this was the first public park established in New York in 1733. I walk by this spot pretty frequently and had no idea it’s significance.
I hope you enjoyed this spring tour of Battery Park and all of the tulips! I had the best time meandering around my neighborhood and snapping pictures. Time to cross off another item on my Spring Bucket List 🙂
