Hi friends, welcome back! I was too busy getting married and enjoying my honeymoon to post a What’s Up last month, but fear not because I’m back in action. June went by in the blink of an eye and was such an amazing month. Jon and I started the month honeymooning in Yosemite and ended adventuring in NYC. It’s been a busy month getting readjusted to a routine during the week and exploring new restaurants on the weekend. NYC feels back to life and it makes me incredibly happy! People are out and about and you can feel the excitement and joy from overcoming the difficulties of this past year. I’m so excited to continue exploring this magical city and have a great summer!
On to my post 🙂 I’ve been linking up with my first and favorite blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:
What I’m eating: in addition to our favorite pizza and sushi…we tried a Latin-Caribbean restaurant and an Indian restaurant, and I loved them both! Maybe my appetite is maturing as I get closer to my birthday 😉
What I’m reminiscing about: it’s hard to believe our wedding was over a month ago. Everyone that says the day goes by in the blink of an eye wasn’t lying! I remember looking at my phone for the second time all day and it was already 10:30 so I ran to the dance floor ha!
What I’m loving: how alive the city feels! Two weeks ago we visited the Meat Packing District for a fun flower festival.
What I’m dreading: the process of changing my last name… hopefully it will go smoothly, but I feel like changing my name will be like whack a mole and I will forget to change something somewhere…
What I’m Up to: I have been growing my food Instagram, and it’s starting to take off! I’ve had a few restaurants invite me to try their food and it’s so exciting! We’ve gone to three restaurants so far and have had such fun experiences and yummy food
What I’m working on: so many honeymoon blog posts! I truly hope you’ve enjoyed reading them as much as I’ve loved reliving them 🙂
What I’m excited about: I have so many fun plans this summer! Lots of travelling including Nantucket, Scottsdale, Michigan, and Atlanta
What I’m watching/reading: I am reading When Life Gives You Lululemons, a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, and it’s extremely entertaining! The back cover says it reads like the Real Housewives of Greenwich, so a very fun, lighthearted read. I’d say it’s a perfect summer read and getting harder to put down at night. American Dirt is next on my list.
We watched Workin’ Moms season five, Emily in Paris, and Million Dollar Listing NY, all entertained us. Next we are watching Bosch, we highly recommend checking it out if you like cop shows. I’m very excited to start watching the Olympics next month!!
What I’m doing this weekend: we’re heading to Nantucket!! I have wanted to go here for years, and after cancelling our Italy honeymoon and another trip last year, we booked a trip to Nantucket to give us something to look forward to. I am excited to relax, eat lots of yummy seafood and ice cream, and for our sunset sail! If you have any recommendations let me know!!
If you need something fun to make for Fourth of July celebrations, I made the below two very simple and cute recipes (if they can even be called recipes ha)!
What I’m looking forward to next month: I’m heading to Scottsdale, AZ for a bachelorette party for one of my best friends, Beth! We’ve been bffs since preschool and it’s so fun going through these big life events together. I will miss Jon, but I’m excited to hang out with some ladies for a few days. We will hopefully be hiking (unless it’s 115*), visiting a winery, and hanging out at the Airbnb made for bachelorette parties. Should be a great time!
Thanks for reading – hope you all have a great holiday weekend!
Enjoy Nantucket and July 4 celebrations
Thanks Sheree!
😎
So encouraging to hear about NYC coming back to life, esp. from someone who lives right in the middle of it all. Also, I envy yours and Jon’s metabolisms 😉
Haha we exercise as much as we eat. The peloton is the only reason we didn’t put on the quarantine 15 😂
Your wedding photos are so gorgeous!! Those 4th of July platters are so fun.
Thank you so much Bri!! The platters are so fun and easy.
I can’t wait to see your photos of Nantucket, it’s such a typical place that I loved so much.
Thank you! I am excited to see the cottages, flowers, and beach 🏝
What beautiful wedding photos! It really does just fly right by doesn’t it?
Thank you!! It goes by way too fast!

Thank you!! Finally living my best life again 😊
I made the mistake of reading this post while hungry again.😋 July will be a busy month for you. Enjoy all of the wonderful upcoming adventures!
Haha I might need to add more disclaimers 😂 Thank you!!
That Indian food looks amazing 🙂 And can’t wait to hear all about Nantucket!
Thank you!! Can’t wait to share pictures, it’s so beautiful here 😃
You should check out NewlyNamed!! It’s a name changing service – they tell you everything you need to do and how/when!
Ah that sounds awesome – thank you!!
Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you!
Congratulations on your wedding!!! I remember reading your posts last spring when you had decided to postpone it. I’ll have to go check out all your honeymoon posts. And how exciting to hear that NYC is coming back to life. I’ve heard that from a few people and it makes me happy.
Thank you!!! ❤️ The postponement seems like forever ago now, but it was all worth it! It makes me so happy NYC is alive again – the only thing different now is masks on public transit and in some stores, but mostly back to normal 🎉
