NYC Holiday Apartment Tour

Welcome to our cheery apartment! The very first weekend of November I started decorating and it makes me so happy sitting on the couch with the tree on.dsc_0165

Jon and I bought this tree last year from Michaels, and I’m pretty sure we were the first people in NYC to buy a tree last year. We only had a few ornaments last year, but this year the tree is looking a lot fuller.img_5650

We started collecting ornaments on trips and this year I got some from Portland and Boston. We didn’t find any cute ones in Georgia or South Carolina that didn’t cost an arm and a leg.

We bought this ornament this year at Macy’s. Last year we got two ornaments there so I’m making it a tradition to pick on out.img_5756

My mom gave me some of the ornaments that she’s been collecting since I was born, she’s the one that instilled my love of Christmas decorations in me. To see her house all decorated you can check it out here.DSC_1011

I actually brought a few decorations with me from Michigan and luckily nothing broke! One of my favorite things is this gingerbread train that my mom gave me. I think it’s so cute and pretty!

She also gave me this little sled that I love and I added this cute little tree from Trader Joes. I’m quite terrible at printing out pictures, but I got this frame last year at Hobby Lobby.DSC_0162

I got this garland at target, and I just love how it looks draped on the entertainment center. It feels so cozy and cheery at night to have only the tree and garland on while watching a Christmas movie.img_5762

When I was in Michigan decorating my parent’s house, Jon went to TJ Maxx and surprised me with a few Christmas decorations. I thought that was so sweet and thoughtful of him. I actually didn’t even notice the decorations when I first walked in the apartment after my trip. He bought this wooden Santa that we put by the TV, and he also got this giant nutcracker on our desk. I can’t believe I didn’t notice them at first!dsc_0159

We got this cute snowman at TJ Maxx as well and I’ll probably keep him up all winter.dsc_0161

Another thing I love is this little pillow I found at Crate & Barrel. I’m obsessed with dogs so this was perfect.

In the kitchen I have this windowsill that I love to decorate. I got this countdown from Hobby Lobby a few years ago and love the Cheetah. I have the Santa countdown on top so I always know how many days left until Christmas.

I got these advent calendars from Trader Joe’s and they were only a dollar. Jon and I always see who can find their chocolate first. This Santa is new this year, and I love this tree. I want to start collecting Santa’s like my mom, but they’re hard to find.DSC_0152

My favorite candle right now is Winter from Bath and Body Works. We light it almost every night and it makes the apartment smell so good!DSC_0173

I also got this cute dishtowel, I think TJ Maxx has the best ones.

In the bedroom I put garland over the headboard and I love having it on when I read before bed. It’s so relaxing. I also got these little trees for our nightstands.

Jon bought this little reindeer that I think is really cute, this was the first thing I noticed when I came back from Michigan.

On all of the door handles I put a little stocking or mitten that I collected over the years. I think they’re so cute and festive. I also bought some mistletoe from Trader Joe’s to hang over the door 🙂

I love our apartment all decorated, it makes me so happy. The first thing I do when I come home from work is turn on the tree and garland, and it’s just so cheery and cozy! I’m still in need of cute holiday bowls, mugs, and a little spoon rest, stockings, and a tree skirt, but I’m so happy how it turned out!
