Hi friends, welcome back! We are officially moved, but I thought I’d officially conclude my time living in NYC with a final “View From My Window”. With the recent heatwave I did a lot of looking out the window to see all the Fourth of July happenings in NYC. Once the feels like temperature gets above 90*, I’m only leaving the house for necessities.

Across the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge was hosting a World Cup Watch Party. Would be so cool to watch with a view of Manhattan. David Beckham was hanging out over there at some point. They also had the Knicks games shown down there too.
I could see the ships coming in for the Sail4th 250 parade.
Violet loved seeing all the boats. I think she asks me at least 50x a day to see the boats.
On July 3rd there was a parade of Class B Tall ships. These are boats less than 40 meters.
All these boats were anchored waiting for the Fourth of July Tall Ships Parade.
A storm rolled in and it was so strong it moved some of the bigger tall ships over 500 feet from where they were anchored. I love a good summer storm, especially when I can see it coming across the water!
Afterwards there was the most beautiful sky and rainbow, which coincidentally were the same night as Taylor & Travis’ wedding.
Up early on the Fourth of July and the water was very quiet compared to yesterday.
There was a blimp outside and I swear every time I looked out the window it moved closer to us. Almost felt like we were being spied on, but it was obviously for the parade. Violet noticed it very quickly after she woke up.
Before we left for the parade, I saw these helicopters carrying a large American flag. Made me very excited for all that was to come throughout the day.
We went to our friend’s apartment for dinner and when we came back I could see the barges for the Macy’s fireworks right below. I was worried they would be behind the unfinished building and we’d have a partial view. Due to weather the fireworks started almost half an hour early, so Violet got to enjoy the show. There was a lot of “wow” and “nice” coming from her, it was pretty cute. A nice core memory for us.
I couldn’t ask for a better grand finale of living in NYC!!
