Hi friends, welcome back! We are officially moved, but I thought I’d officially conclude my time living in NYC with a final “View From My Window”. With the recent heatwave I did a lot of looking out the window to see all the Fourth of July happenings in NYC. Once the feels like temperature gets above 90*, I’m only leaving the house for necessities.
Strawberry Moon

Across the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge was hosting a World Cup Watch Party. Would be so cool to watch with a view of Manhattan. David Beckham was hanging out over there at some point. They also had the Knicks games shown down there too.

I could see the ships coming in for the Sail4th 250 parade.

Violet loved seeing all the boats. I think she asks me at least 50x a day to see the boats.

On July 3rd there was a parade of Class B Tall ships. These are boats less than 40 meters.

All these boats were anchored waiting for the Fourth of July Tall Ships Parade.

A storm rolled in and it was so strong it moved some of the bigger tall ships over 500 feet from where they were anchored. I love a good summer storm, especially when I can see it coming across the water!

Afterwards there was the most beautiful sky and rainbow, which coincidentally were the same night as Taylor & Travis’ wedding.

Up early on the Fourth of July and the water was very quiet compared to yesterday.

There was a blimp outside and I swear every time I looked out the window it moved closer to us. Almost felt like we were being spied on, but it was obviously for the parade. Violet noticed it very quickly after she woke up.

Before we left for the parade, I saw these helicopters carrying a large American flag. Made me very excited for all that was to come throughout the day.

We went to our friend’s apartment for dinner and when we came back I could see the barges for the Macy’s fireworks right below. I was worried they would be behind the unfinished building and we’d have a partial view. Due to weather the fireworks started almost half an hour early, so Violet got to enjoy the show. There was a lot of “wow” and “nice” coming from her, it was pretty cute. A nice core memory for us.

I couldn’t ask for a better grand finale of living in NYC!!
You certainly had a beautiful view out of your windows. Glad you had a great Grand Finale fireworks show!
Hard to beat that view or final weekend in the city!
It’s like the city was saying goodbye to you! I can’t believe how big Violet is! She’ll love her new home, although may miss the view too.
It really was! She’s 20 months now, crazy how much she’s grown and knows. She now asks to go outside all day long and says car with a very Boston accent ha.
❤️❤️❤️
Oh how you will miss these fine views Lyssy, but, not to worry, the views from your new home will soon hold your attention. Great photos from up on high. Have a wonderful day. Allan
It was nice not looking into other buildings and all the happenings of the river and city. We do miss those views, but moving to the suburbs was a good choice!
Wonderful pictures, it’s like the city threw you a leaving party!
Thank you, it really was!
Those are some fabulous photos, no wonder Violet was enthralled.
Thank you, hard to beat that view! We are slowly but surely getting settled.
Good to read
Wishing you all the best in your new home.
super cool! may the new home bring more sweet core memories your way!
Thank you!!
You really do have some pretty amazing views! That rainbow is incredible and how lucky to get to see the tall ships without having to stand out in the super hot sun.
Those views are hard to beat! Just standing in the window with the ac felt hot, it was nice not having to leave to see things.
What wonderful final.days memories for you all of your time spent living in Manhattan. Violet looked so cute and standing in the window enjoying the boats and fireworks. All best wishes for your new life out of town.
Thank you! It was a great finale to living in the city! She now looks out the door in the kitchen, but the views aren’t quite as exciting. I think it’s time I get a bird feeder.
Such fabulous pictures! What a wonderful send off for you!
Thank you! Couldn’t have asked for a better send off.
Wow, indeed! What a view, and how adorable to see your daughter enjoying it too xx
Hard to beat our view! She really loved that view.
A brilliant leaving party – just as it should be!
Couldn’t have asked for a better goodbye!
I bet you, Violet and hubby will miss that spectacular view!
We do, the suburbs aren’t quite as exciting!
That’s a view that’s going to be hard to beat. Love the fireworks photos! Hope you guys are getting settled in and enjoying your new house.
The suburbs aren’t quite as exciting, but it’s nice having extra space! We are slowly but surely getting settled.
What a gorgeous view! I’d love to live in a place with a gorgeous skyline. In NYC of all places!
We really had such an incredible view!
Those colourful firework photos are superb! It is quite obvious that watching the world go by from a New York City apartment offers a unique look at busy city street life, tall buildings, and bright city lights all blending together into a constantly moving show. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx
It was always fun to see what was going on outside, no day ever seemed to be the same! The fireworks were the perfect way to close our chapter in NYC.
That it was quite the sendoff for you guys. Stunning cityscape views and such a dramatic array of rich summer colours. I think I’d be just like Violet drinking it all in. You’re going to miss those views, but I’m sure you’re already loving the new home.
It really was! Couldn’t have asked for a better farewell. We definitely miss the views, but it is so nice to have that extra space and little yard in our new home.
I am so excited for your new adventure. NYC is great but having a yard to “earth yourself” is very important. Good luck in your new home.
That photo of Violet with the fireworks is so beautiful. What a special, special view you have had – thank you for showing it to us. And hope you’re settling in to your new house 🙂
