Hi friends, welcome back! July was a scorcher so I’m happy to be another month closer to fall. We had a pretty low-key month based off the lack of pictures from the past 31 days. We had a seafood dinner party with our friends, went out for brunch, and ended the month with a Chinatown food tour. Next month we’ve got two trips to Michigan so it should be a little more exciting.

On to my post 🙂 I’ve been linking up with the first blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:

What I’m eating: we joined a Chinatown Food Tour with Ultimate Food Tours and it was delicious! Jon and I are about a twenty minute walk from Chinatown, but hardly ever go, so we really enjoyed checking out some of the best spots. I’ll have a full tour soon 🙂

What I’m reminiscing about: our trip to Switzerland for my 30th Birthday. I’d love to go back one day and explore/hike more of the beautiful country.

What I’m loving: the Olympic games! The time difference has been great so I can watch the fianls live during the day and not have to worry about any spoilers online.
Favorite post of the month: celebrating Jon’s birthday in Nantucket – birthdays are extra special on vacation

What I’m Up to: watching a lot of Olympic coverage and trying to stay cool with all these heat waves
What I’m working on: I’m almost done with my Nantucket series

What I’m excited about: fall is right around the corner and I’m ready for pumpkin everything.

What I’m watching/reading: The Bear, Owning Manhattan, Receiver, Sprint, and now lots of Olympic coverage
Books I read this month:
- Lies and Weddings by Kevin Kwan
- Swan Song by Elin Hilderbrand
What I’m doing this weekend: celebrating my birthday & heading to Michigan for Jon’s cousin’s wedding.

What I’m looking forward to next month: we are spending Labor Day weekend in Northern Michigan with my family
What are you looking forward to in August?
Summer is the time for things to slow down, but they seldom do, Lyssy. Looks like a great list of done and to do. Have a Happy Birthday. Allan
Thank you, I had a nice birthday! Last summer it seemed we were on a flight every few weeks, so this year has been nice to chill.
Happy birthday!!
Thank you!!
I bet that food tour was delicious!
It was delicious, we really enjoyed the tour!
Happy Birthday!
Thank you!!
Wishing you a very Happy Birthday Lyssy. I’m also watching as much of the Olympic Games as I can, it’s so much fun!
Thank you! These Olympics sure are exciting, it’s hard to be productive when they’re on.
I am so over this heat! I’m very much looking forward to the fall and everything pumpkin flavoured as well. Hope you have a wonderful birthday.
Thank you! The heat has been brutal! 92 today, but then it drops down to 76 which will feel like a dream. I think the stores will be getting their pumpkin items soon.
Yay Olympics! I was watching gymnastics this morning and I was so insanely nervous.
I did see some candy corn at the grocery store today, so clearly fall is just around the corner.
Gymnastics is so nerve wracking, especially the beam! My heart rate gets pretty elevated int eh swimming too. I always put candy corn in my vase in the windowsill but it’s always so hot so it melts haha.
You always have exciting trips planned, you’re so right to make the most of the summer.
It is nice to take advantage of the nicer weather and longer days.
Happy birthday, Lyssy! Hope you have a wonderful celebration. I’m giving the Olympic Games a miss, after the European Football (soccer) Championship monopolised my time for a month earlier this summer. Sorry to hear about the terrible weather. After some scorching days in July in Tbilisi, we are now enjoying a mercifully milder summer in the Baltics. Still, I’m looking forward to autumn with all her delights.
Thank you!! That’s fair, the Olympics make it very hard to stay productive, I become a couch potato. A milder summer in the Baltics sounds amazing, send some cool weather my way! Fall can’t come soon enough if you ask me.
I’m watching Olympic clips online. It’s love Chinatown . You need to do the Dragon parade at least once.
A relatively quiet month for you two for once. Hope you both had fabulous birthdays.
