Hi friends, welcome back! I’ve got a very cool steakhouse to share with you today that I was recently invited to. Bacalls is located in the heart of Times Square and named after the famous old Hollywood actress Lauren Bacall. This spot is unique because it captures “The 1940s glamour of Hollywood and spirit of Times Square”. I obviously wasn’t around back in the 1940s to confirm how accurate this statement is, but the interior was like nothing I’d experienced before feeling very old school and glamorous. Antique chandeliers set the ambiance and the walls were lined with old pictures and memorabilia.
I ordered the Backstage Margarita with infused jalapeno tequila, tomatillo Juice, lime, and spice. Jon ordered the Bacall’s Bacon with Roses Bacon Bourbon, maple syrup, and bitters.
For appetizers we chose the Waygu Beef Sweet and Sour Meatballs and I loved these, they were sweet and delicious. They put the Ikea meatballs to shame and this dish was my favorite of the two appetizers.
We also ordered the Margarita Flatbread and it was a nice, simple appetizer, but I wouldn’t order it again.
For entrees we split the 22 oz Prime Rib and it tasted delicious. We don’t have steak very often so this was a nice treat!
We also chose the Rigatoni Alla Vodka with Burrata and it was the perfect creamy complement to the steak. This combo is the way to go!
To cap off this delicious dinner, we ordered the Cheesecake with a milk chocolate drizzle. This cheesecake was so light and airy and the perfect end to our meal. I wanted to order the Hungarian Pull-Apart Cake, but sadly they were out. The cheesecake was a great consolation though.
This restaurant is massive, we didn’t even see the basement level, but it seemed like it would be easy to make a reservation anytime. They also have fun events throughout the week. We ended up going on karaoke night but didn’t partake for the sake of the other diner’s eardrums. Overall, this was a fun dining experience and the food tasted delicious! I’d definitely recommend both entrees and the meatballs. I’d also suggest telling your waiter ahead of time if you are seeing a show so they can know to speed up your dinner.
