Hi friends, come on in for a holiday home tour at my parent’s house in Michigan! I love decorating their house for Christmas and this year I restored things to their usual spots after I couldn’t decorate last year. I have a system that I take very seriously and plenty of pictures to guide me ha. I dream of one day having high ceilings for a massive Christmas tree, a stairway to line with garland, a big basement to store it all, and a white Christmas of course 🙂 (All pictures were taken on Thanksgiving and this post is best viewed listening to some Christmas tunes)
I always start by decorating the mantel with my mom’s Santa collection, now you can see where I get it from 😉
More Santas on this desk and some cute old pictures of me and my sisters at Christmastime. This mall Santa almost looks too real!
I always save the tree for last, this one was hard to decorate because the branches are so large and pokey. I dropped three ornaments but luckily none broke. I was a major butterfingers this year!
I also almost killed Jon this year… I was decorating the balcony and I was holding a big peppermint ornament and it fell out of the hook and landed right next to Jon on the couch. I was watching it in slow motion as it fell and thought it was going to shatter, but we lucked out and the couch absorbed the fall!! We could’ve had a major disaster if it landed on the table or Jon’s head. Next year I’ll put up some caution tape while I decorate 😉
This picture below is from 2019, and the peppermint on the right is what fell. Definitely wouldn’t have tickled haha.
The breakfast nook and kitchen area.
Above the kitchen sink displays the cute snowman collection.
The foyer garland is one of my favorite areas at Christmastime. The new garland really did a number on my fingers this year. I had some battle scars, but it was worth it! This looks so pretty at night and adds so much coziness.
Last but not least, we have the fancy tree in the living room that my dad decorated.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the tour!! Have you decked your halls?
