Hi friends, welcome back! I’ve got a post for your sweet tooth today. I’ve been seeing and hearing all about these mystical Crumbl Cookies from friends, family, and all over my Instagram feed, but I had yet to try them because they don’t have a location in NYC. Hopefully they will open one soon because Jon and I loved their cookies and concluded they rival some of the best NYC bakeries!
Two cousins on a quest to make the world’s best chocolate chip cookie started Crumbl in 2017. Once they perfected their chocolate chip cookie recipe, they crafted a pink frosted sugar cookie soon after and now you can find them in over 200 bakeries in 32 states. Talk about a quick and massive expansion!
Each week Crumbl features six flavors, a four-flavor, rotating menu and the famous chocolate chip and sugar cookie. Schmackery’s is the only other cookie shop I’ve seen with a rotating menu, so it’s a fairly unique strategy.
In addition to delicious cookies, they are known for their open kitchen so customers can see the entire cookie process, and their iconic pink boxes. The boxes are brilliant because everyone loves to feature them on their Instagram resulting in free marketing! Crumbl has over 1 million Instagram followers and their feed is incredibly aesthetic.
When Jon and I planned to visit his family in Atlanta, Crumbl was on my must-do list. We tried going around five on a Monday, but they were sold out of some of the cookies, so we went back the following morning and ordered the six cookies available that week: Chocolate Chip, Sugar Cookie, Cookie Dough, Oatmeal, Galaxy Brownie, and Pumpkin Caramel.
Cookie Dough was by far the crowd favorite. The cookie was so soft and it was love at first bite.
The Chocolate Chip Cookie was my second favorite, but I wish it had dark chocolate chips.
Followed by the Sugar Cookie. I’m still trying to figure out what the taste reminded me of, but the almond frosting had a lemony taste to it.
Next the Galaxy Brownie, this one I think I had too high expectations for or maybe it just wasn’t as soft as the others.
Then the Pumpkin Caramel. This one tasted so rich we could all only have a small bite at a time. Everyone agreed it tasted just like Pumpkin Pie.
Lastly, the Oatmeal Cookie. It tasted good but needed butterscotch or chocolate chips to give it more pizzaz.
Jon and I loved Cruml cookies and had so much fun trying out the different flavors. The cookies were massive so we were glad to have Jon’s family to share with. I wish there was a location in NYC so I could try out more flavors like the Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip, Waffle, Old Fashioned Doughnut, Banana Bread, Chocolate Marshmallow, Confetti Cake, and Hazelnut Sea Salt.
