NYC Christmas Decor Master List – Part Two

Hi friends, welcome back to the conclusion of my holiday series! I’m wrapping up my Christmas Master List with the sights below 42nd Street not quite worthy of their own post, but worth seeing. If you missed part one you can check it out here. Starting at the beautiful New York Public Library guarded by the two lions, Patience and Fortitude. I believe people refer to this tree as the Harry Potter tree, probably because of the owls. Nonetheless it’s very pretty and tastefully decorated.

New this year is this carousel right by Macys. It was making me a little dizzy with how fast it spun!

I visited the Washington Square Arch tree and enjoyed the lack of crowds. Usually I prefer ornaments on trees, but I think this one looks nice plain.

Brookfield Mall always looks festive.

I love this tree overlooking the World Trade Center.

The remembrance tree at FDNY Ladder Co. 10

Zuccotti Park is always fun to walk through this time of year.

The Seaport has a large tree near the street and by the pier there is a polar bear art display and the Wavertree is lit up festively.

My favorite tree is the Wall Street tree. I think it’s prettier than Rockefeller and there are never crazy crowds. Violet and I stopped by some of the tree lighting ceremony and enjoyed the live music. I walked by after visiting Rockefeller and it was a ghost town at 8:30am on a Saturday!

I have had the best time seeing all the decorations around the city and sharing them with you all. Hope these posts have brought you some joy and festiveness! I managed to see all the popular sights and we ended up getting in to see the Macy’s Santa, but Violet was not a fan! It’s been a great year and I’m so happy to be back on the blog sharing the city with you all. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!! I’ll see you in 2026!

    1. That is a good question, I definitely would have been dizzy! I’d never seen a carousel spin so fast. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas too!

  1. A gorgeous finale Lyssy. The library looks so nice all decked out for the season. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Allan

    1. The library is very beautiful, especially decorated for Christmas. Hope you have a Merry Christmas too!

    1. The city really shines this time of year. My pleasure! I enjoyed getting out and about again.

  2. Hard to beat the stately setting of the NY Public Library (and a tasteful tree at that). But somehow I couldn’t reconcile the “collar” wreath they adorned the lion with. It makes what is supposed to be a ferocious animal look more like a house pet 🙂 And how the heck did they fit a carousel in front of Macy’s? There must be an open space or a very wide sidewalk, huh? Thank you for capturing (again) all the seasonal wonder of NYC!

    1. You are right, I think those lions might feel a little embarrassed if they had a say. They must’ve just plopped the carousel on a tiny pedestrian only area. I would’ve been dizzy after a few turns. My pleasure, I enjoyed seeing it all and sharing the festiveness!

  3. I love the library tree and the Wall Street tree with all the colorful projections behind it. Thanks for sharing the magic of Christmas in NYC with us!

  4. These are all so pretty too! I really enjoyed seeing all the public library photos as I’m listening to a book set in that library right now.

    1. The library is especially pretty at Christmas! It’s fun reading books about that library. I liked The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis.

    1. It’s been my pleasure, glad you enjoyed it all! We are staying in NYC for Christmas again. Hope you have a wonderful Christmas with your family 🙂

    1. Makes for a cute picture when they don’t like Santa at least! Merry Christmas to your family too, it’s so special having these little ones for the holidays!

  5. The NY Public Library tree really captivated me, and I found the remembrance tree touching. Have a great holiday season, and see you next year!
