Hi friends, welcome back! I’m starting my NYC holiday tour at the first spot I visited this season, Bloomingdales! They are collaborating with Burberry this year for a “Happy Together” campaign showcasing “a heartfelt celebration of connection, tradition, and the wonder of shared moments.”. The windows are also consistent with Burberrys “Twas the Knight Before” holiday campaign. The windows were unveiled November 19th and are usually up through New Years. I enjoyed how each window had a little story to set the scene. As a cherry on top, the exterior on Lexington Avenue features a large Burberry Scarf made of 126,000 lights.

“’Twas the night before, beneath a soft, new snow, Where boots left prints in a warm, golden glow. The wreath on the door was grand and bright, Manmade with care by the noble Knight. Cranberry sprigs in merry arrays, Welcomed the magic of the holidays.”

“Inside they worked through the twinkling night, Preparing to charm the littlest knights. The scent of gingerbread filled the air, As laughter and sparkle danced everywhere. Tangles of lights and ribbons so neat, Trimmed every corner in holiday sweet.”

“The crackling fire hummed soft and low, Then a shimmer of red began to glow. Velvet and joy filled the cozy room – Music and magic banished all gloom. With piano and strings so bright and clear, The Knights all knew who soon was near”

“Through swirling snow their travels were done, Home again under moon and sun. Gifts in check and ribbons of gold, Told happy tales of warmth retold. Their noble pup tagged as friends drew near- Happy Together,” echoed the cheer.”

At Burberry’s flagship store on 57th Street they had ‘Twas the Knight Before theme.

I thought the themes were clever and I enjoyed the windows this year. I also enjoyed that it was a cohesive story. Bloomingdales usually has somewhat creepy looking mannequins so I liked these knights. What do you think of Bloomingdales windows this year?
I also like the Bloomingdale windows this year Lyssy and the giant ribbon/scarf on the exterior makes the store look even more festive and inviting.
The scarf is a nice touch! I think they should keep it up every year.
Definitely!
An interesting themed display Lyssy. Quite clever using Knights and Nights. I love the big bow on the building. Have a great Monday. Allan
I thought it was clever too! The bow is the perfect finishing touch.
I love the word play on night with the addition of the knights; rather fitting since all the plaid does make me think of medieval castles too.
I forgot their logo has a knight on it too, but I agree the scenes remind me of a medieval castle!
Fabulous window displays. Burberry’s have also provided the decorations for Claridges (hotel in London) Christmas tree this year. Obviously going all out to impress everyone.
I’d love to see London at Christmas one year. Jon was there a few weeks ago and saw some decorations, but it was too short of notice for me to tag along. One of the little crossbody bags did make my Christmas list this year, effective advertising!
TBH, it’s not as good as NYC or Paris.
Creepy display, they look like killer robots.
I admire the understated approach to promote Burberry’s products. I know their patterns are featured in the displays but “scarf” or “coat” is not the first thing to catch my eye. Frankly, the massive scarf-as-a-ribbon (and matching flag) wrapping the building grabs my attention even more than the displays below. Over a hundred thousand lights? Awesome!
I actually didn’t know about the giant scarf until we started walking away and I saw a bunch of lights in the building across the street. I sure would’ve been bummed to miss it!
The displays are so clever, and I love the story, but mostly I love the huge scarf on the outside of the building! Maggie
I thought they really did a nice job this year! I think they should keep that big scarf up forever.
Looks magical! Wrapping Bloomingdales with a large, light bow is ingenious and I like all the festive cheer!
The bow really does add the finishing touch!
I love the way they have wrapped the store in a large ribbon type scarf. It looks so festive and is very eye catching.
I thought they did a really nice job this year capturing the festiveness of the season!
What a lovely way to start getting in the festive spirit 🙂
Very magical, New York knows how to do the holidays!
What a beautiful display to go along with a classic Christmas poem. I really like the bow on the building too.
