NYC Upper West Side Halloween Decor 2025

Hi friends, welcome back! I’ve got my final neighborhood tour of the Halloween season for you, the Upper West Side. The vibe of this neighborhood seems to be spooky with cobwebs, skeletons, and zombies. There was great participation in the neighborhood and some very creative displays. I always enjoy seeing the giant skeletons while I’m walking down the block. There aren’t as many streets to cover on the UWS so this tour goes from 69th Street to 89th Street between West End and Central Park West. There’s a lot more decorations than in this post, but in order to spare you from 100 pictures, I’m highlighting the best of the best on my walk. Some highlights from the tour:

What do you think about the Upper West Sides Halloween decorations this year? I think if I was a kid I’d be a little afraid to Trick or Treat on these streets!

    1. I would think so! They close a lot of the streets on Halloween so the kids can safely trick or treat on the UES & UWS. Would be a lot of fun to see one day. Happy Halloween to you too!

  1. These folks go all out to be scary, rather than spooky. My biggest question is which closet do they keep their skeletons in? 😁 Have a great day. Allan

    1. I think these folks have multiple closets ha! They do decorate scary. I saw a lot of random body parts in the cobwebs and hanging from trees.

  2. Some of those decorations would definitely have intimidated me as a kid trick or treating.. then again I was always a wuss when it came to Halloween and being frightened. If not for the candy I would have skipped trick or treating altogether.

    1. I am too! A lot of them look like they’d jump right out at you and that’s a no from me haha.

  3. Fabulous, imaginative decor on serious property porn with handsome doors. I’d be happy to go trick or treating here. We can go together though it’ll probably be the hired help handing out the treats to us.

    1. You can ring the doorbells and I’ll follow behind you to make sure nothing jumps out. They close a lot of these streets so kids can trick or treat safely so it becomes a big neighborhood party.

    1. They really do! Surprisingly not many townhomes decorate for Christmas compared to Halloween.

  4. Some of these displays must have cost an absolute fortune!! For the first time ever in England, I saw a van with the logo “holiday decorating company” on it, so I think it’s all starting over here now too…..

  5. That little grouping around the tree kind of creeped me out. Ditto the giant eyeballs. Now I’m wondering how quickly all this decor comes down and how soon you’ll start to see the Christmas stuff. IMHO the Christmas displays – at least retail – are starting way too soon. Someone decided Nov 1 is now the start of the Christmas season? I’d rather wait until after Thanksgiving!

  6. I love this, and especially the house with the huge eyes! As you say, I think I’d also be a bit scared to go trick-or-treating if I were a kid because these decorations are all so big! I also wonder where do people store these during the year!
I took a little break from blogging so I am only seeing this post now but I was very excited to read it! I actually was in North America (Canada) for Halloween this year and even though the decorations were less extravagant than the ones you have in NYC, it was still a lot more than what we usually have in Europe! Thanks for sharing!
