West Village Halloween Decor 2025

Hi friends, welcome back! Halloween is quickly approaching and I’m making my way through my Fall Bucket List. Last week I enjoyed strolling through the West Village to find the best Halloween decorations. It seems the West Village decorations are less over the top and more “fall” themed than the neighborhoods uptown. I do appreciate that they are concentrated on a few blocks so you can enjoy the fun without a huge time commitment. Some highlights from my tour:

It doesn’t get more NYC than a pigeon display and this one at 41 Bethune is a great way to start the tour.

Jane Street between Greenwich St. and Washington St.

12th Street between W 4th Street and Greenwich Ave.

Banks Street between Bleeker St and W 4th St.

My favorite is the display on 11th Street between 6th and 7th Avenue. This café scene gets a 10/10 in my books!

Some other displays on the street.

11th Street between Washington St and 7th Avenue.

Perry Street between Bleeker St and 7th Avenue.

Charles Street between Bleeker St and 7th Avenue.

An honorable mention to this tour is Chelsea Market, which is technically not in the West Village, but it’s not a far walk. They usually have more decorations but this year they kept it minimal.

This map includes the general area of where all these decorations are:

What do you think of the West Village halloween decorations? Up next is part one of my Upper East Side tour  🙂

  1. Wow, these all are amazing! I just love how people in New Yorks West village get creative with Halloween decor to create a spooky atmosphere, express themselves, and get into the spirit of the holiday, especially when creativity extends to both the interior and exterior of homes. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. It is a lot of fun that they put in the effort of decorating so others can enjoy! I look forward to decorating my porch one day 🙂

  2. Gorgeous décor! Even though you say the neighborhood isn’t as festive as others, I still found West Village’s very vibrant! Thanks for sharing it all, and I look forward to the next post with more Halloween festivities!

    1. I think the decorations suit the neighborhood! It’s fun to see everyone’s take on decorating.

  3. That is what I call the Spirit of Hallowe’en, rather than all the grotesque monsters and zombies other folks put up. If the other neighbourhoods are even better, I can’t wait to see them. Did Violet get to come along on your tour? Happy Monday Lyssy. Allan

    1. Very true they kept it classier! The UES does more of the creepy figurines. I left Violet at home for these so I could run across the street easily. Also the West Village sidewalks are very narrow and uneven. I bet she’d love the giant skeletons.

    1. NYC really loves to celebrate Halloween! There’s also a really big Halloween parade in the WV.

  4. Very impressive, and it’s true that stairs are great places for such decorations. I wonder if they weren’t built for that purpose.

    1. The townhome stairs are all so pretty too, they look even better with some nice fall displays.

  5. WOW! Wonderful variety of festive and spooky decorations. How generous of others to create such beauty, and you to share it. Much thanks.

  6. Wow, some people go all out for their Halloween decorations! Is the skeleton restaurant an actual restaurant, or someone’s front yard? It’s my favourite. Maggie

    1. I think that is someone’s house or condo building, not a restaurant. I thought it was a restaurant too but then I couldn’t find it on my map. They really did a great job!

  7. The oversized characters (ex. the ones on Janes St. and Perry St.) always creep me out, even more than the giant skeletons. They look like they’re just going to step down and come after you. I’m always blown away by the time invested in making these displays. There are those who create and then those who simply admire. I am the latter 🙂
