Hi friends, welcome back! I’ve missed you all and this little blog so much. I thought I’d be back a lot sooner, but I’ve had less free time than I expected and time is flying by too fast! I figured fall would be the perfect time to make my comeback because it’s my favorite time of year and there’s a lot to see and do.

While I dust off the cobwebs on my keyboard I’ll keep this post short and sweet by sharing Violet’s room. I never shared it before because we wanted to keep the room an office as long as possible. This is what the room looked like when it was an office/gym.

Now that we’ve had time to settle, I’d say her room is complete. As you can guess I used her name as my theme, hopefully she likes flowers!

I enjoy decorating her bookshelves for the holidays. She seems to enjoy reading as much as I do.

The room is very small and took some creativity to fit all the furniture. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a good place to move the bike. We’ll make it up to her one day!

Now that I’ve got the daunting first post out of the way I’ll be back to my usual fall content. I’m looking forward to being back on the blog and catching up with everyone! Thanks for stopping by!
Great to see you posting again Lyssy and Violet looks adorable!
Thank you! We think so too 🙂
I’ve missed you Lyssy. Many new parents do not know how busy a little one can make life, until they have one. They are the most important thing for sure Violet is growing fast. You place looks picture perfect as always. Have a great Monday. Allan
That is very true! She is officially on the move and very fast so she really keeps us on our toes. It’s fun to see her learning and grow, but it goes by too fast!
Because I was your third grade teacher I have to say that I LOVE YOUR BOOK COLLECTION. I spy books are amazing for pre reading skills and the Dr. Seuss books expand vocabulary. Eric Carle is one of my preschool favorites too. I know that you take Violet to the library already……The books collected from your trips are great and I hope you continue that tradition of bringing home a book from all the places you will take Violet in the coming years. The room is packed but as they say, ” a little baby moves in and so does a whole bunch of stuff.”
Yay! I’ve been collecting books for years and we did save some from when I was a kid. I’ve got some vintage Arthur and Franklin books that are fun to read. I remember a lot of the Dr. Suess books when I was a kid too. We keep the library very busy with all the books we put on hold. It’s amazing how much stuff a little baby needs and we are pretty minimalist!
Aw, welcome back! She won’t know the difference or care about having an exercise bike in her room, don’t sweat it. It looks really cute.
Thank you! We joke she’s pretty Lucky to have her own room in NYC 🙂
Welcome back! We’ve missed you. The room looks lovely, especially the bookshelves. Violet is adorable.
Thank you!! I’ve missed our little blogging community. It’s good to be back. We think she is adorable too 🙂
So glad you’re back to your blog. I have missed you, but I’m sure you were pretty busy with Violet. Violet’s room is lovely and I love all the books displayed. Looking forward to your postings!
Thank you! Violet was never a great napper so I have been very busy keeping her entertained. The books are my favorite part of her room 🙂
Welcome back Lyssy! The room looks lovely! The bike adds a nice touch:)
Thank you! Gives her something interesting to look at when she wakes up 🙂
Welcome back Lyssy and what a lovely photo of the three of you. Of course, I’m of the opinion that every room needs a bike, including Violet’s.
Thank you! I think it gives her some inspiration. Won’t be long before she’s learning to ride one herself.
Great to read!
Welcome back! Love the picture of the three of you. The room is adorable, perfect for little Violet, books and bikes 😊 Maggie
Thank you! It is a happy little room for Violet 🙂 She’s got it all!
Welcome back!
Thank you!

Thank you!
It is good to see you again on here Lyssy! You have a beautiful family, and I love Violet’s room, and how you have her books set up! That is a good idea! 🙂
Thank you! I’ve been seeing books like that on Pinterest and I couldn’t wait to do it myself 🙂
Welcome back Lyssy, Violet looks adorable and the room looks cute with the books, I’m sure she won’t mind at all that the bike isn’t in her room
Thank you! She is an adorable little girl 🙂 she hasn’t complained about the bike yet haha
It’s great to see the changes, and I hope you find some time for the blog, if only to take your mind off things.
I think this blog will help me get out and about more. I rarely leave a 1.5 mile radius these days.
Welcome back!
Thank you!
Yay, welcome back!!!
Thank you!!
How lovely and cozy the room of Violet. She surely loves it. The books look inviting. Happy bedtime reading with her. Beautiful post, Lyssy!
We spend a lot of time reading in there 🙂 It is very cozy!
Welcome back!
Thank you!
New here but I Love it already.Congratulations and welcome back 😊
Thank you!!
I totally get the stuck-and-cranky feeling. Love how Handel’s story helped you push through 🙌🏼
Hello again, Lyssy 🙂 So great you decided to come back! Wouldn’t have blamed you for taking a different direction with your free time. The nursery books (and the meticulous displays) are a wonder – you should consider working for a book shop ha. I recognize several titles without even zooming in. I’m guessing “Harold and the Purple Crayon” is in there somewhere. I always loved that book, ironically, for its lack of words. Congratulations again to you and Jon. It’ll be great to get the occasional peek into your little one’s life.
I think the blog will help me get out of the house and do something for myself. I think I would enjoy doing the displays at a bookshop! I had her bookcase set up before the crib ha. We actually don’t have that book but I remember reading it as a kid. I remember a lot of the illustrations in all the Dr Suess books. A lot sure has changed since I started the blog.
Lovely to see you back! Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. Her room and her book collection are lovely. I’ll look forward to catching up on your Fall adventures.
Thank you! It will be a fun fall with her 🙂
Yay, welcome back, Lyssy. It’s so nice to see you back. Violet’s room looks so cosy and snug, and I can tell that a lot of thought and love went into creating the nursery. I am very impressed by her book collection and look forward to your posts. Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx
Thank you! It’s a cozy room and we love to read and rock together 🙂 Little girls sure are precious as you know!
Ahhhh welcome back 🙂 x
Thank you!!
You have used your space incredibly well. Welcome back. I imagine you’ve been busier than ever with Violet and just enjoying the everyday moments with her! Your book display brings back so many memories of reading to my own kids. Reading has to be the most important thing we can do for them. Violet will be writing her own blog before you know it! 🙂
Glad to hear all is well and to see you back on WP! Violet is very adorable. Nicely done with decorating her room.
I love the bookcases for your little one’s reading pleasure!
Violet is pretty as her mom!
Welcome back Lyssy! I was wondering how have you been 🙂 For sure a little one can keep you very busy … Imagine with two little ones lol … that’s my life right now!
I’m glad to see you back! I love that you use her name for the room’s theme! Hope to see you back in IG as well 😉
Welcome back and congratulations!! I’ve missed your posts and beautiful pictures of New York! Violet’s (I love that name!) room is so pretty and I love the change in shelves according to the seaon!
