Hi friends, welcome back! Not much is new this month. We’ve just been relaxing and going out to dinner or brunch with friends on the weekends. Once March Madness started I became one with the couch. We’re going to have another busy summer so it’s nice to just chill out. As much as we love to travel and go out to eat, we’re big homebodies.
On to my post 🙂 I’ve been linking up with the first blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What’s Up posts. Each month I’m answering the following questions:
What I’m eating: I’ll be posting my Foodie Friday this Friday. We’ve been cooking more at home lately and it’s been fun. I was on a stir-fry kick, then flank steak, but my favorite thing we ate this month was Jon’s homemade birria tacos. I asked him what recipe he used and he said I’d have to buy his cookbook to find out….
What I’m reminiscing about: March 2017 was when Jon first texted me and look at us now! Six years ago I was still in grad school and turned my phone off while I was taking an exam. When I turned my phone on after, I had a text from an unknown number, although I had memorized his sisters number and his is one different, so I had a good idea of who it was. As they say, the rest is history 🙂
What I’m loving: signs of spring are finally popping up around the city! I shared everything I’m looking forward to in my NYC Spring Bucket List here.
Favorite post of the month: my apartment tour! We just love our home and the extra space.
What I’m Up to: the same old things: going out to eat, exploring the city, and planning our trips
What I’m working on: a series about the history of Lower Manhattan. We walk by so many historic places every day so it’s been fun learning more about them and their historical significance. If you’ve seen Hamilton, we don’t live too far from “The Room Where it Happens”
What I’m excited about: my travel & food world collided this month. I worked with Monos, a suitcase company, on their collaboration with Magnolia Bakery. They made a limited-edition collection of suitcases in the colors of the purple and yellow Magnolia Bakery frosting. Now Jon and I can look like pros with our new suitcases.
What I’m watching/reading: we loved The Gilded Age on HBO and wish there was more than one season out. We also enjoyed Ginny & Georgia season 2, Daisy Jones and the Six, and Abbott Elementary has been really good lately. We’ve also been watching lots of golf and basketball. I’m very excited to watch The Masters next weekend and will be pulling for Rory.
Books I read this month:
- Spare by Prince Harry
- Nora Goes Off Script by – this book was very cute if you need a happy, quick read
- Things We Never Get Over by Lucy Score
- When in Rome by Sarah Adams
What I’m doing this weekend: watching the Final Four hopefully with some pizza
What I’m looking forward to next month: watching The Masters, spring blooms, and the Easter Bunny coming to visit – last year we had Covid so he had to skip our apartment.
What are you looking forward to next month?
