Hi friends, welcome back! As you know, we moved up five floors to the 45th floor in our building last fall and were nervous about leaving our uptown views behind. We went from north and west facing, to east and south facing. As is usually the case, our worrying was in vain because we love our new views. We get more sunlight, are surrounded by water views, can still see gorgeous sunsets, and don’t look directly into any apartment buildings. My mom gave me this blog post idea from a Facebook group she saw called “View from my window” that has over 3.6 millions members from around the world. I thought it would be the perfect post to do in winter so I could take pictures without experiencing the cold. You never know what you’ll see in NYC!
I haven’t made it up for many sunrises…
… but I’ve seen some beautiful sunsets!
Nighttime views, I love that this building lights up red, white and blue. It was also green and red for Christmas.
We have great views of the Brooklyn Bridge and East River and I love watching the different boats come through. Some look like they’ll barely make it under the bridge, but I always watch to make sure like the unofficial neighborhood watch. As you can see it’s a very active river.
We got a few snow flurries.
Some days we can’t see outside our window due to fog.
I believe they were filming Law and Order this day.
We can see the Staten Island ferry running all day and night long.
When President Biden comes to town he flies in and out of the Wall Street heliport and I can see the big helicopters circling around waiting. They also close the whole FDR highway for the motorcade. It’s always neat to see.
So there you have it, the views from my window. I hope you enjoyed!
