Hi friends, welcome back! There’s been some crazy weather across the country this winter, but oddly enough NYC was experiencing a snow draught. We’d had a few flurries, but nothing measurable. As much as it’s nice to have a mild winter, I was dreaming of one snowy day so I could visit my beloved Central Park. Last week there was measurable snowfall forecasted so I charged my camera battery and crossed my fingers for a snow day! When I looked out the window I didn’t see the 3-5 inches predicted, but I knew this could be my only chance to see a snowy Central Park. As they say, beggars can’t be choosers.
I hopped off the subway and headed towards the 59th Street and Fifth Avenue entrance. It was a bit of a crummy morning with a drizzle and fog, but I still enjoyed the quietness of the park.
The paths were a little slushy, but mostly clear. I made a great life choice wearing my rainboots.
I’m guessing not many people intended to ice skate this day.
The Mall was so peaceful, this was the emptiest I’ve ever seen the park.
The further I ventured into the park, the snowier it got. It’s estimated Central Park got about 1.8 inches of snow which seemed accurate.

Walking through this part was a little treacherous, clumps of snow would fall off the branches and smack me in the face. For a second I thought someone was trying to start a snowball fight with me, but it was just the melting snow.
I finished my outing with a walk around The Lake to the other side of Bow Bridge.
