Signs of Spring in Central Park 2022

Hi friends, welcome back! I’ve got another seasonal tour of Central Park for you today. Admittedly It was still a little early in the spring season when I meandered through the park, but I had to take advantage of a warmer, sunny day before days of rain. I saw so many beautiful signs of spring and flowering trees on my walk. Unfortunately, NYC had some unseasonably cold days and not all the flowers fared well but I found the ones that persevered. No matter the season, Central Park is always a peaceful place to wander through.

I started my walk at the southwest entrance on 59th street and saw lots of people taking in the beautiful day. Schools were having gym class outside and I could hear their giggling mixed with the birds chirping, the happy soundtrack of spring and summer.

The color of the magnolia trees and cherry blossoms are easy to spot through the rest of the bare trees lining Central Park. I used the blooms to guide my walk north, planning to ultimately finish near the reservoir.

I can’t wait until Sheeps Meadow is filled with picnickers.

Seeing all the flowering trees and blue skies fills me with hope after this long winter.

I made my way to The Lake and Bow Bridge, and quite a few row boats were paddling by. Maybe I should add this to my NYC Summer Bucket List 😉

I even saw the “me” from My Perfect Day in NYC walking her Golden Retriever through Central Park.

I always love taking pictures at this spot throughout the seasons and seeing the reflection on the water.

I stopped by Shakespeare Garden, but it’s still waiting to bloom. Jon and I walked through here a few years ago and it was so beautiful in bloom!

I also walked through Azalea Walk, but sadly the azaleas didn’t make it through the cold.

The Great Lawn looking very green and ready for baseball and kickball games!

Last stop of the day, the calming Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis Reservoir. I had some fun with these magnolia trees 🙂

I hope this spring tour brought some joy into your day! For me it’s always a great day wandering through Central Park, especially when the sun is shining. I’ll have to do a part two of the eastern side of the park and Conservatory Garden when more of the trees and flowers are blooming. I’m so lucky to have this beautiful park right at my doorstep and love spending as much time here as I can!
