Hi friends, welcome back! I hope this post brings some happiness, lightness, and spring vibes into your day 🙂  Last week, Jon and I returned to the New York Botanical Garden to see The Orchid Show: Jeff Leatham’s Kaleidoscope. Jeff Leatham is a famous florist most known for his work at the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris. Now he caters to the stars and is the go-to florist for the Kardashians, he even created a beautiful flower wall for the wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West at Versailles. Jeff also has over 1.2 million followers on his gorgeous Instagram page that displays his floral masterpieces. In 2020, he designed the annual Orchid Show at the NYBG, and it was so popular (pre-covid) that he returned again in 2022 with a brand-new design.
The Orchid show runs February 26th through May 1, 2022 so there’s plenty of time to see this colorful exhibit. Jon and I went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was busy, but not as crowded as the Holiday Train Show we saw before Christmas. Beginning in late March, the botanical garden offers drinks and food to purchase while you explore the show Friday and Saturday nights.
The show starts with this kaleidoscope mirror surrounded by colorful orchids. I loved being able to see the different colors reflected in the mirror.
We next ventured into a rainforest climate and it felt great compared with the cold outside. The warmth, sunlight, and beautiful florals gave me hope for spring to come!
I loved this room with the fountain, it was so beautiful!
Another room full of gorgeous greenery.
To the desert!
How unique are these plants.
After the desert, the star of the show, this magnificent display! This room felt like being in a utopia, everywhere you looked was so gorgeous and saturated with color!
The show ends with white orchids, which is intentional because white is the combination of all the colors of the color spectrum. Clearly no detail was overlooked in this wonderful exhibit!
Jon and I had the best afternoon viewing The Orchid Show: Jeff Leatham’s Kaleidoscope at the New York Botanical Garden! It was the perfect escape from the winter and cold and I’d highly recommend making it out to the Bronx to see this exhibit. We spent about an hour walking through the tour, and it felt like the show kept going on and on compared to the holiday train show. When we went to the holiday train show, only a few of the rooms in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory were open, so I enjoyed seeing the rest of the conservatory on this visit. It was also a different experience seeing the conservatory during the day. We walked around the grounds afterwards looking for signs of spring and enjoying the fresh, but chilly air. No matter when you visit, you’re guaranteed to have a great time at the New York Botanical Garden!
