Masters Graduation

In September of 2015 I started my first Master’s class at Walsh College. It was my first night class and the struggle was real. I was studying for my CPA exam during the day and attended class at night. Studying was life to say the least. At the end of 2016 I started working and had to take two classes so that I could get to 150 credit hours for my CPA license. It wasn’t fun, but it had to be done. In December of 2017 I had my final class of my educational career.

It’s a surreal feeling to be done with school forever. At times it felt like it would never end, but on Saturday I walked in my Master’s graduation ceremony.

I went to check in for graduation and realized that everyone had a tassle on their cap but me. Luckily there were extras.😂

I got to sit next to my friend Jen who graduated with a Masters in Accounting. I interned with her at Masco Corporation and learned about Walsh from her, so it was really cool to finish together.

When I walked across the stage the announcer called me Alyssa Renee  (my middle name is Rose). I’ll never live that down.

I’m so thankful that my family and Jon could be there to celebrate my graduation with me. They have always encouraged me to keep going. Whenever I would come home from school exhausted after work my dad would always tell me “This too shall pass”, and it finally has.

We went to dinner at Granite City and I had the salmon, but it was so spicy! (If you ever go out to eat with me there’s a 99% chance I’ll order the salmon) Jon got a giant burger.

It was such a special day and I can’t wait to see where this journey will take me 😊
